My 250es big red is seeping a small amount of oil on the right hand side at the top of the cylinder. There is a black cover it is seeping from behind that looks to be the area of the end of the cam? Is this a tell tail sign of something that needs to be addressed or repaired ASAP? THANKS!!!

Thanks, but this is a CDI model without points and that is on the other side of the motor.

it's jsut an endcap and it has a seal. you can purchase a top end rebuild kit and it will come with the seal in it. kits run about $29+shipping. granted you won;t use all the seals, but you will have them for later incase you need them.

That is just the rubber plug at the end of your camshaft journal. It will not hurt nothing if it is seeping oil. If you want it to quit you can pop it off and wrap some teflon tape around it or put silicone. Most of these leak after time.

^ or clean it really well and the head and valve covber, then use hi-temp silicone all the way around it and it will seal up. (or replace the plug itself)
