i know the 85 has the 5sp and the 86 is a 6sp any other differences?if i had a 85 frame would a 86 motor fit without mods?the the parts interchangable.the reason i am asking is i want to build one during my 4 month layoff and dont know to much about them.any input would be great.

86 motor will fit in the 85, and vice versa, no mods. The cases are the same, and I believe the 6sp trans can be put into the 85 cases as well. I dont know of any changes to the frame, and if there was, there is nothing that would be a deciding factor. The 86 did have upgraded forks, which are slightly larger in diameter.

Other than that you can mix and match parts as you please.

p.s. the warrior shock is a common replacement for wornout tri-z shocks, as the stockers are not rebuild-able. Hope this helps.

Ty
