hi guys
newbie here.
I purchased an 86 350x a few years ago and everything was great. Recently, the motor has locked up and I have a crack on the front side of my inner case. Was trying to remove the top end but I can not get the cam chain loose. Could any of you guys give me some advice on this.
I appreciate all you can tell me
thanks

You have to remove the cam chain tensioner on the right engine side and back side of the cylinder. That gives you the slack to get the cam out of the head.
All of this stuff can't be explained in posts.....
Please, buy the shop Service manual, download one or buy one on CD for about 6$ on EBAY. Very important steps in that manual and it will save you $$......

Ditto on that, get a manual before you get to far into it.

remove the cam gear and slide the cam outta the way, then take the chain off of the gear
