I measured mine and I can tell you that the lobe of the 200x cam is bigger. Also I they were identical why the service manual call for a different valve clearance for the 200x vs. all the others 200.
Look to my that your list is for all the application possible.

maybe they only offer 1 cam these days.

when they were new the x cam had more lift

yes, your right there is only one cam grind avaliable from honda now for the 185/200 i had a dealer tell me that a few years back, although the 200x did have more lift when new if i'm not mistaken what you buy now is about the same as a stock 200e but don't quote me on that part

yea all the articles I ever read stated that the 200x cam had more snot than the 185's, and xr200 cams produced more power than the 200x unit. I am not certain which year xr's were utilized for this swap, but it is more than likely the same years that ran concurrent with the 83-85 200x's.

so if someone was to use an xr cam in a 200 or 185 what all would they have to mod or change.

Maybe just some heavy duty valve springs if even.

Don't waste your time with a slightly bigger cam. Get one with some real lift and duration. Puh-leeze.

Hey if money is tight it doesnt hurt to use the oldschool upgrades rather than buyin a brand new cam.

any of the stock 200 cams would be fine with any 200 springs

whats the deal with the ebay cam that says its for the 185 and 200 models.which cam would it really be compared to as in performace.the 185,the 200,or the 200x.

Dude, it's the same freaking cam. 3 or 4 degrees here or there doesn't mean crap. Going to another stock cam is just wasting your time. Going to a real aftermarket cam is one of the biggest improvements you can make. Period. Get out of this ghetto mindset and start doing something significant. If You want to learn something about cams, go to ebay and find an old Iskendarian (Isky) catalog. The back pages of them are freaking seminars on CAMS.

From what little ive found on this it looks like they are all built to xr specs now. You can get a new mid-range on ebay for $45 from bikerchicltd
