Tank paint?

I was thinking about taking my 350x tank to the local body shop for fresh paint. Has any one ever clear coated over there honda wings, if so did it turn out good or bad? Another ? is powder coating an option?:wondering

I clear over all my decals. Just make sure it is a good quality clear that won't melt right off with one drop of gas.

PS they look great and will last much longer.:beer

Just had my tank done. My friend did all the body work and paint on my 200x tank, and it looks amazing. He put down an awesome color white, the the decals, then 3 layers of clear. The tank is too nice to ride, rest assured it will be ridden! I would definitely clear in the decals.

The cool part of clearing everything is even if you do scratch it up a little you can always wet sand down a little and buff it and it will look just like new. (sand from 600 to 2000 grit and buff)

Awsome I always wondered about that. Sounds like a plan. I have a clark plastic on there right now but its just not the same w out oem decals and that pearly white shine!
