my new find on cl

i found this 84 200x on cl in my area here in nor-cal for $500. the pics in the ad were not very close but it looked clean. but you all know a lot of times it looks much better in the pic than in person. but this one looked better in person. its all original, has little wear on the tank and a dent, and a very small crack on the rear fender and some minor scuffs, but this bike runs and rides like new still. no rust on the exaust pipe! im going to fully resore it and keep it bone stock trike so what do you guys think?http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr219/redrider200x/Picture005.jpghttp://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr219/redrider200x/Picture006.jpghttp://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr219/redrider200x/Picture008.jpg

For $500 you got a steal. That trike is probably a grand all day long in most areas. Shes in real nice shape. So nice that its a definite restoration project. Well worth every penny.:TrikesOwn

yeah, when i went to go look at it, i dealed with the owners son, witch his father is the original owner, orignal title and all. a buyer before flaked on him and they just wanted to get rid of it becase they dont ride it much and it was taking up space, they were into dirtbikes, i asked him how much and he said since the headlight didnt work(prob orig. bulb) and it didnt idle well from some old gas sitting in the carb, i'll take 450. since i didnt have change for 50 and the bike was very clean, with fresh oil,gas,plug, and uni filter and 500 is still a steal i gave him 5. when i gave him that he said ''really?'' boy i was happier than a pig in s#!t bringing that 200x home. ice, im not sure if thats a honda headlight guard, if it is it will stay on there.

My 83 200x has a guard I think its oem but its shiny aluminum and connects to the front fender. You deffinitly stole that thing tho I paid 750 for mine 5yrs ago and it wasnt that nice.

In my opinion I'd keep that one as original condition and if you want to restore one find one that actually needs it. I think this one is worth more as original than it is restored.

i was thinking of at least restoring the tank since the paint is worn off and a large dent on the right side of the tank. also im debating on putting new decals, the 200x on the sides are about gone, tank is worn, and the back fender one is not that bad, but is scratched up a bit. the bike has some ride time on it, its just been ridden lightly,not in mud, and garaged. i want it to look like it did back in 84, but i am still unshure if i should leave it the way it is or touch it up? i plan on still riding it, probably mainly in sand.

Nothing stands up better than OEM stuff.... That paint is 23yo and still looks great, I'd leave it!

nice find.here in the south its hard to find something like that.i had to dive to tennessee which was a 600 mile drive to pick up my 84 200x.we have nothing here.

i think i will repaint the tank with time as close to oem as possible. the dent and worn off paint on the right side to bare metal bugs me. some new orignal decals all around, clean up, and thats it.

why are there no deals like this in southern ontario? i give up looking, the only 200x i have seen in months on kijiji is going for 1000 and its in used shape meaning rusty and cracked plastics.

well im trying to sell my tecate quick so i can get the funds to get that 86. he had it listed for a while already. i think everyones going broke around here becase there is cheap deals left and right.
