Back then - yes.

With todays oil you would be safe running 32:1 or even 40:1.

Hell, alot of people run 50:1!

Just get a good oil, like amsoil and find a ratio that works best for you and your riding style and stick to it.

I run 20:1, spend more on oil and less on your motor.
