HOW TO? Manual clutch atc 110

I know it is relatively easy to find a sl 70 and sl 90 and put a manual clutch in an atc 70/90, but what about the 110? From what I've gathered, they are not interchangeable. Any ideas how to accomplish this? My son has a pretty hot little 84 110 with lots of old school goodies on it, but he would like a clutch for more control. Any help would be appreciated.:naughty:

You have to change to different cases. No 2 ways about it.

yes these are the lifan motors that a couple different people have put in their x's and s's and what not. by the sounds of things this 110 he has now already has some good stuff in it which is why he doesnt want to swap motors.

anything can be done, its just gonna take some fab work. i know there was a kit aguy developed for the yami wolverine 350 to convert it to a manual setup (the wolverine motor is basically the same as the warrior) that would be my ideal 4x4, a worked manual wolverine.

anyhow the conversion for the 110 should be similar to that wolverine/warrior swap. maybe you shoul try to research that to get an idea. i may actually have the article in an old dirtwheels, i'll check.

You mean switch to the 90 cases? If so, will it bolt up to my frame? How involved is it? Do you have any extras laying around Pat?

You would have to bore the spigot out for the larger 110 cylinder at least. I'm not sure if the 110 crank would fit, but it should, at least for the points style 110, cause I'm not sure if the cdi 110 crank ends are different, that would be the big problem. You would have to research that.

Tri-Z pilot I looked through my old 80 and 81 dirt wheels and couldnt find any articles on the swap. I know it has been done though. Anybody else out there ever done one of these?

The 110 manual clutch conversion is the same as the old ATC 90 conversion. Get an old manual 90 road bike engine or clutch cover and clutch pack. The only mods to do are shortening the inner end of the ATC shift shaft ( on the ATC the shaft is supported by the auto clutch cover, on the road 90 its not) and put a welsh plug in the manual clutch cover kicker hole.
Make sure you get a manual cover with the alloy cable mount intact. They had a habit of snapping off.
None of the Chinese 110/90 parts are interchangable with the ATC110 engines.

Thanks, got a lead today at my local motorcycle junkyard. For 20 bucks I cant go wrong! The guy said he didnt know if it would work with the cdi ignition or not. Worth a try though.

Thats all? I am going to have to give that a shot. Is it the same for the 84-85 125m motor? I seems like it would be.

On egay there is a kit to convert the 110 Lifan engines to manual clutch, I think it was like 80$ and had everything you needed. Seeing as they are the same as the Honda motors, it should bolt right on and work the same?? Just another option if you dont want to buy used stuff.

The chinese 90/110 copies are based on the Honda 70 engine. A completely different animal to the Honda 90/110. Nothing interchanges.
