I've been looking for a decent 87' 200X for some time. I purchased this one over the weekend.
All original OEM plastic with no cracks, the motor and exhaust have been painted at some point and new rear fender decals applied. Other than that, it's an original, and fairly clean, 87' 200X. Check it out

Damn, that thing is NICE. I've picked up two 1986s recently. They are more of a project that I should be able to get a nice rider out of and maybe a beater later on. I'm really starting to like those 2nd gen 200X's and that 87 is beautiful. Does it have the key?

Yes it has the factory keyed ignition, everything is there and it works.

To WIkid, I live about 40 minutes north of Milwaukee.

Nice trike.

It is also nice to see more people from WI here. I think WIkid probably lives the closest to my location. Grew up in Hartford though so probably know your area as well ATV4life1.

Happy Holidays Everybody,
Matt

Nice! That trike looks familiar. Did you get it off CraigsList or eBay?

Thanks for the comments fellas. Its pretty clean, although it has been ridden as evidenced by the tires. I had, but sold an 86' 200X that was cleaner and had less time on it that this one. Always wanted an 87' though.

Not an E-bay or Craigslist find....obtained it via a tip from another 3-wheeler addict I know. He just happens to prefer Yamahas to Honda. Major beer owed to him!

Yes I have ridden it.....gingerly, around the yard. I don't plan to ride it much if at all. I understand and appreciate the rarity of the 87' 200x as well as the expense of finding replacement parts, especially plastic:cry:
I have other machines for riding.

My bad, not trying to be an ass, I just have a kick seing people get really good bikes for cheap, and others who pay top dollar for junk due to some tard saying they have something RARE.

So are you saying under $1000, or you paid what I would say it's worth (upwards of $2000) and we'll leave it at that.

Anyway great find, either make that a nice garage queen, or live by DC's motto. I prefer the latter:D

I'm in central Wisconsin. I picked up an bone stock '87 200X (original owner) in Sept. for $900. The seat cover was patched a little and decals not as nice as yours though. But the plastic is great (no cracks) and everything is there. Has optional factory headlight gaurd. I thought it was a good buy.

Bison are you around the wausau area? We should all hit a lake or river this winter. I'll be beating the ytm-200 4 another winter and my X motor won't be done till mid- end of Feb. The rest of the bike is done just getting all my engine parts lined up now. Will do the machine work once second semester starts again. If you guy's want to organize a ride for this summer I'm game for that too. Our cabin is right on the ATV trail just south of park falls. those are nice trails up there.

Wikid500, I'm in Marshfield. But the ATC is kept at my parent's farm about 15 miles west of there.
