this morning i traded a jet-ski with a bad pump for 2 trikes plus i got $200 cash too...
only things i know about them are they are big reds, 250cc... can anyone tell me the year/model or any other info on them? one is just a roller, the other is complete except for pull rope.
here are 10+ pics of both of them... i'd like to know the year/model if possible...

I am guessing those are not Big Reds, they look to be early 80's atc185 or maybe 200's.

Well the one with the engine looks like a 200s (poss '84/'85?)
the other i'm not so sure on, maybe a 185/200s?
Neither are a bigred i'm afraid :( as they're both 'hardtails'

good info... i didn't think they were big reds either, but the guy insisted they were.
he did say he thinks they were 70-76 models, but i didn't think they had fork suspension back then, tomorrow i'll write down the engine # on the running one and decode it, i left the trikes out at my dads place because i'll be out there for sunday dinner tomorrow, i always bring my 70 and 4 wheeler out there every weekend, so i'll get to mess with the new trikes tomorrow and get a better look at them as well...

I don't think the 200s was made that far back, earlyish '80s for sure, as the one has front suspension, but thats about as far as my little knowledge goes i'm afraid :(

The one without front suspention looks to be a 1981 or 82 200.

I agree. Just a plain ATC200, no other letters after the 200 either. One of those was my first 3-wheeler. I've had it since 1996 and rebuilt it when I was 17.

The one on the left is a 82 or 81 185 or 200, the right looks to be a 83 200 or 185, or a 200S.

Do they run good? I like my old hardtails better than I liked my 200x.

I'm digging the "lift kit" on the front of the roller...

the front is a 185s. i have that one i am rebuilding for the wife. it's a 83 185s (first year with suspension)
the one w/o suspension looks to be a 81-82 185s roller. (years before they added front suspension.

Yup I am guessing the one with shocks is a 200s. The one without the shocks looks just like an old 1983 atc200 that I had.

look on the lower part of the cylinder and find the CC's also on the front right of the frame for a vin or tag

i dont know the codes BUT
the one with the front suspension is a 83 atc200 since it has the 25" tires. they wont fit on a 200s will rub fenders
the other one with solid front end is a 81 or 82 atc 200 since it has red plastic. the 80 atc185 was orange colored so it's not that.
niether one is a 200s

Look like a plain 1983 ATC 200.
that is what i came up with too... just wanted some confirmation! LOL
now i can get parts for it... when i picked it up the guy started it (push started) and it ran fine but poured black smoke... today i strapped it to my little 70 and pulled it a couple hundred feet and then back and couldn't get it to even try to fire, instead of messing with it much more i'll just pull the motor and rebuild it and go from there, also rebuild the carb (leaks gas from around the bowl) and the rear brakes do not work so i'll redo that too... i guess it'll be my winter project.
The roller i might use the rear end and brake setup and build a go cart using a honda 110 engine/tranny and keep the rest for parts...

if there is alot of black smoke coming out the exhaust it probably just has carb problems running real rich. It mite not even need the motor rebiult. just do the carb 1st and see what happens.

You can look on the neck of the frame. If the VIN is still there, you can look at the 10th digit and figure out the year of the frame.
