found this while searching google for some t3 images. im thinking of maybe designing some short and long sleeve t-shirts, havent seen many kawi t3 ones except the photo printed ones that are on egay, and i stumbled across this little gem... and it says 200 on the side. :beer now i know its a step down from the 250, but could this be an old school sleeved down t3? now i have been on here for sometime, and have seen just about every post or thread on here pertaining to anything with the t3, and i dont ever recall seeing this on here before. does any one know who's this is by any chance? more info on it would be great.

My guess is that it is more than likely a kdx200 motor in the chassis, although it may be a de-sleeved tec motor. I dont know much about Kawi history, I went from tri-z's to R's (although an 86sx was my first machine) , I guess goin green is the next step:Bounce :D
P.S. What does this mean btw? shens ?

Yeah good idea! Those on egay are worthless. I got a cool clock of my old tecate and think shirts would be sweet too.

It could be. I wish the owner had taken a good closeup pic of the left side of the engine so we could see any porter signature marks.
If it is a true KXT engine sleeved down to a 200, I wouldn't consider it a step down. Of the Jap/tuner-modded 200cc 2-stroke class contenders, a 200 Tecate would be my first choice.

I have a article on a shoot-out of the 200 conversion motors. 2 of them are tecates and another is the honda. The tecates basically won it, it took less money and work to make them complete in the 200 2 stroke class, the honda is a great motor, but has a narrow powerband and can be hard to ride for a desleave. The article had shevy's destroking and cut down clyinder, they did alot of work for it to complete. 200 kits were also sold for tri-z, not so common, as so for air cooled 250r's. A shop near me has a few air cooled 250r 200cc pistons and might have a sleaved down 200cc lc piston.

Kdx's were aircooled back then and the exhaust was on the right.

oh yeah... and raised up in the tripples.. I bet that thing is scarey at high speeds... they must have raced it on a small track lol..

I have a NOS Wiesco piston for the 200 tecate, it says on the box Tecate 250 debore to 200cc. I know a guy who used to race Tecate 200's and still has his set up notes, so maybe some day I will build one, will look nice next to my Tiger 200,lol

Could it not be a later gen kdx200 utilizing a modded tec3 expansion chamber.?
We really dont have any info at this point so until then everthing is going to be speculation, I've never seen a tec3 200 kit, so I figured chances are it's going to be a more common 200 motor. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not. That's half the fun.

Roughly a month or so ago, there was a new 200cc sleeve on ebay. Think it sold for about 50$ Other that nostalgic reasons though, i would not consider going to a smaller engine. Especially considering they were made for the Tecate style exhaust port. Lots of performance would be sacrificed. It was only designed so the Tecate would fit a specific class. Not as a performance enhancer.

Back in high school a friend of mine had a Selvy's 200 Tecate. He ended up selling it for next to nothing. I'll have to see if I can find any pictures. I did trade him my black stock seat for his blue CEET seat though.
As I remeber it did run really good.
