Go to ddmtuning.com. They are an aftermarket company geared towards BMW's, and specialize in HID lighting. The have a Motorcycle/ATV lighting section. For trikes, you would need the Single HID with Hi/Lo bulb kit. Biggest thing would be is if they make a bulb to fit the 3 wheeler headlight. You can get any color bulb you want, plus they offer either a 35w or 55w kit, base price is 79.95 for the 35w, add 15.00 for the 55w. They also include a FREE LIFETIME WARRANTY with all thier HID systems.

I bought a complete projector headlight assy with 55w digital ballasts and everything to plug and play for 300$ SHIPPED to Alaska for my BMW. And thats before they dropped the prices!!

I think they would work.

You can also try www.sharphid.com .

you could make it work as long as the voltage your bike puts out is regulated. would be even better if the bike had a battery setup, otherwise it might eat ballast like crazy.

[QUOTE=codemanlyons;682921]have to be crazy too...HID for the new cars run 300 a bulb[/QUOTE

 Umm
I don't think you have looked at prices lately. You pretty much run a complete kit for about $100 dollars.

The lights I will be running will be dual 6" PIAA desert lights. Capable of housing an H3 bulb. Most vehicles chevy, dodge, ford run a H3 bulb. These are 35w bulbs. My trike will have a brand new rewound stator capable of running up to 80w output. Which I won't be blowing balasts. I think this can be done. I may need a small battery upon startup.

If you do go with HIDs, make sure you go with the 55w. They are much brighter then the 35w, and if remember right, the 55w slim ballasts from DDM draw the same as 35w does. I was planning on trying this on my 250r but I already run a 100w Xenon bulb which is plenty bright for where I ride.

What are you putting this on thats only putting out 80w AFTER a rewound stator???? :wondering

55w will not run on a Tri-Z stator. Only 35w. I am not trying to blind everyone I ride with. I dont need that big of lights. This is soley for the purpose of doing it and making it happen.

Kinda on topic - how about those sylvania silverstar bulbs - can they be bought in sizes to fit our trikes? Say a 250R 1982?

Dammit!

I have sylvania silstar in my 82 its funny that my trike takes the same bulbs as a 93 honda civic. So if your looking for any bulbs for the 82 just look up bulbs for a civic they are the same.
