Well, last Friday I bought an '81 ATC250R, the build-it-yourself edition! Anyway, Tomorrow I'm FINALLY gonna pick up this Tecate that I've been trying to buy since I joined 3WW and I'm pretty stoked. The cool thing is that by tomorrow night I'll have tripled my collection for 300 bucks. Not too shabby. I'm getting off topic though, this is really just about the start of my first three wheeler project! I'll try to post pics tomorrow night, but I'll just tell you all the good and bad.

The bad: needs new rod bearing, piston, front wheel bearings and rear axle bearings. Grab bar and fender latch are MIA. Seat pan is shot. Its in a million pieces.

The good: everything that is metal was blasted, and then most of it was painted this metallic red color that I like, but I'm not sure how its gonna look with the OEM red plastic (might get some white Meier fenders). All of the engine bearings look and feel brand new. It came with a goody-bag of Honda parts, including everything related to the swing arm pivot joint, chain slider, engine seals and gaskets, front sprocket, that thing that looks like a big piece of pipe that goes in the axle carrier, and some other stuff. Plastic is in good shape, with normal wear and no cracks; the rear fender still has the mud flaps and metal support pieces. It has a Ceet that's in pretty good shape, with a small rip in it, and a little foam damage.

That's it for now. Not too bad a score for a buck fiddy, eh? Again I'll try to post some pics at some point (shoulda taken one of all this stuff shoved in my T-bird).;)

LOL!

Here are some pics. BTW bought that T-3. What a beater! Fenders are white from sun damage, some body did a wicked wheelie and broke the rear portion of the frame (and then tried to weld it, but failed) and it's missing a radiator hose. I won't post pics of it yet. (trust me you don't want to see it)

Yeah I need to pace myself. We stopped at the gas station after picking up the T-3, and a guy came over, asking if we wanted to buy a Big Red (I believe it was a 200e) for $100, only catch was that it didn't have a front fork. I was this close to taking him up on his offer, but there was no way it was gonna fit in the back of the truck. (we also bought a CR80R) Shoulda offered him 50 to take it off his hands right away. I think i could have gotten it to fit... =)

ok i'll tell you how bad i am..

got a 185s, tore it down to the frame and started looking for a parts trike. found a 200e for $150 and picked it up only to find it in beter shape than my 185, so i fixed it and now ride it. found a guy with 6 trikes that did not run. 3 were rollers and 3 were parts. picked them up for some computer parts trading. (i'm a computer guy by trade. do servers now, but still dabble in pc stuff as a hobby)

so yea 6 trikes from there. then! got justin's 125m restored it and now got a 200s that's mine. not sure if I'll keep it or sell it to get $ to fix others. and now i'm combing the adds for cheap atcs in my area that need work.

next worked a pc deal to trade a laptop and some website work for 2 250s.

wow lets see
1-185s
3-200s
4-110
1-200e
1-250es
1-250sx

wow!!!!! dude i want more!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Yep, you win for sure! I don't think anybody can top that. How much time was there between buying that 185s and the 6-pack? My problem is once I put the work in I become too attached to 'em and then I can't sell 'em.

well let me just say you will love the t3 when you get it done and running. i have both an 85 and 86, plus a atc70 and restore project number 4 is a 200x thats sitting behind my garage and just begging for some loving and attention. also got my trusty blaster! yeah its a quad, but hey atv's are addicting and can get some people into trouble with the spending habits, lol, but its fun! im like you, once you put your hard earned money and countless hours of hard work and time, i cant bring upon myself to get rid of any of them.

3 wheelers are one of the better addictions. It started with me when I was young. Went a few years with no rides(but didnt have time anyway with starting a family). Found a nice '85 200s at a barn sale(just needed the pull start rebuilt). Fixed it, sold it now have 2 70's a '85 Big red and a '85 350x. Always on the hunt for more.

No I think Howdy has everyone beat, I think he's around 100 trikes or so, no joke.

Hey Scooteroo, how does that 240 run? I heard they ran like raped apes, I was gonna do that to mine, but I traded it for a rebuilt tri-z. I figured why not trade for something nice and running since it was blown up, but I do miss the little bugger. I think the blaster is my favorite quad, and I'm six foot. That thing had awesome power to weight, and I loved to jump it.

i love it. im always tinkering with different combinations on it. right now i am running a 34mm carb and a billet intake with vforce 3 reeds, open airbox with an outerwears cover. i am 5'10", and about 195, it used to feel really tiny to me, but then i went and extended the arms and swinger, extended axle, and the bike is comfortable as all hell. i love jumping the thing, its so damn light and you can throw it around like it was nothing. i have to say, i have owned quite a few different trikes and quads, and i have to say its one of the funnest bikes i have ever had. dependable, starts first or second kick no matter what the temp is outside, and runs like a raped ape!! alot of people come up to me and because of the different nose and all the aftermarket goodies on it, mistake it for a 250r alot. i think its kinda funny, and when i say no, its a blaster they are truely suprised. it loves to climb hills!!! you can basically point it where you wanna go, gun it, and it never bogs down, just screams till i hit the top! i ride with guys that have quadracers, both atc and trx r's, 400ex's, 300ex's, the heavy "warrior", and if im not in front of them, then i am trying to find away around them cuz they are slowing me down, lol!! now im not saying it goes out and walks all over everything and anything i put it up against, alls i am saying is it holds its own, and definately isnt a slouch.

I have the IT200 which is the same engine that's in a blaster, just more aggresive porting, maybe some other stuff i don't know about. But it makes more HP than my R and the things a freakin' screamer. It will blow away my 250r i know that. Yamaha did a damn good job designing that engine. Is the blaster a 5 or 6 speed? because my IT is a 6.

Yeah Scoot I think I'm gonna like it too. Its a very comfortable trike. I was surprised when I saw how big it was. This will probably be the second fastest bike I'll have ever ridden, when its done, the first being a '91 CR250.( I was afraid of it when I rode it so it was never WOT) BTW I believe its an '84, but I'm not 100%. What are some dead giveaways?

Here's some pics of the ole blaster, I had reed spacer, injection block off kit, acerbis handguards and a bills pipe and silencer. I wish I still had it. Would be a fun motor for a trike. They are very peppy stock, but I guess with a little porting they really wake up. I talked to Eric Trenga a couple times (only lives a couple miles away) and he said the exhuast ports are way de-tuned, and with a little work they really come alive.

Dude that's not so bad. The way I read it at first was that you bought all of 'em within a couple of weeks! You still probably win in the category of most trikes bought in a single day/week; six! My best is a measly two, three if you count dirt bikes, although I didn't
pay for that one so its technically my brothers.
