Hi all. I just bought a '81 250R the other day, and it has a three bolt pattern on the rear hubs. is this stock? I was just asking because I'm thinking of buying a new set of rims. I thought they used the normal Honda 4\110.

It's normal - same with the 82R.

You can upgrade the hubs very easily by swapping on a set of hubs from a 200x, 300 or 400 ex. (the 300ex will make the rear wider by about an inch a side)

btw - PM me if you would like your trike featured on a new website launching in a few days. :TrikesOwn

No the 82 250r had a 4 bolt pattern but it was not the 4/110 i beleive it was 4/152.

Thanks. Yeah its not much of a trike yet... more of a pile of parts. However the parts are in awesome shape. So far, the only things that I need to replace are some wheel/axle bearings, and the piston. Everything else is good, in fact it's still on its original bore!

That's what I suspected. It came with a Clymer manual, and every time they showed the axle, it had four bolt hubs on it.

but he is right the 81 250r came with 3 bolt hubs. 83-87 200x hubs along with the 83-84 250r hubs and the 400ex hubs and 300ex hubs will bolt right on that way you can go with some new trick aluminum rims. the 86-87 200x and 400ex and 300ex hubs will give you a 2" wider rearend also.

My 82R has 3 bolt rims/hubs.

Probably a hack job by the previous owner.

That's good info. I may pull the hubs/tires off my X when I get it closer to being a roller. One of the rims that I got with it will take a lot of TLC, or beatin' with a hammer to bring back.

81 was 3/100 amd the 82 was 4/130 bolt pattern. 83 and up went to 4/110 in the rear and I am not sure on the front pattern on the 83 and up.

Ya alot of the old steel rims are an 8 hole, dual bolt pattern. I got a set of steel 250r rims that were on my 4x110 hubs and now my bros got them on his 200s 4x130 pattern.
