I'm waiting... ;-) I'm also waiting to see which silencers will fit it. My DG pipe has too long a tail end for my Klemm Research silencer to fit.

Can't wait to see it. My brother contacted them for a pipe for his 85 Tecate but never ordered one. Since then, I have picked up an 85 Tecate and would really like to have one, though the bike almost runs good enough with just a DG on it.

I don't mean to put down your pipe, but if you think that thing runs good with a DG, get something better. You wouldn't beleive the difference. I run a CRF and it's the bees knees. I've got a DG for a spare and it pales in comparison.

Oh, you can put it down all you want. lol. I know DG is not very good and in some applications can be worse than stock. It does look bigger than a stock pipe but I know that doesn't always mean anything. It's got some other aluminum silensor though (not DG). I honestly think my T3 has major cylinder work. My brother also has an 85 Tecate and it runs nothing like mine. In 2nd and 3rd as soon as the power band hits the bike is pretty much straight up and down before you can even let off the gas. It's pretty wild. It has brand new 20 inch shredders on back so it's putting the power to the ground.

I'm gonna put a universal FMR Turbinecore on it......due to the needed spark arrester for where I attend to ride. How ever that Tecate-z guy has a Dg on his T-3, its seems to be a very stout T-3, according to Trikefest 2008 videos. I will send pictures of the pipe as soon as I can find the cable to my camera.

Jemco is making my T3 pipe for my sprock 300 big bore. The thing that's even cooler is that they are making it to clear the sprock cool head...pics when i get it...

Good choice with the FMF Turbine Core 2 Universal. I have one to use and wish I had more.

I wish I had the money to support Jemco for a 86 KXT500 pipe. I need to start the build though.

I like the DG pipe on 84 and 86 Tecates. On the 84 with KX250 top end, cut head, electrical and flywheel it reminded me of a Paul Turner High Rev for LT250R and seemed more powerful than my 86 T3. Much larger than stock.

Here are picks of both.....and I have owned them all. Dg pipes are fine and make plenty of power if the trike is "PROPERLY" tuned. I just wanted somethng different!

Yeah, my 85 has as DG and Ricky flywheel (some have said it adds power?) and I wish some people on here could ride it. I'm not saying its super fast but the hit of the power band is unreal.

I paid 250.00 plus shipping from Jemco located in Texas. It took a while to get this pipe, but right now they are all caught up! Your looking at a 8 to 10 day turn around.

So can jemco make any custom pipe, or do they just do tecs? I may need one for my atc500r build this is why I am asking. Did you need to send your frame and motor in to have the pipe built and fitted, or how does it work?

Tecate 50

No they have the 84-86 tecate jigs. They were the pipe builders for all the Tiger trikes in the 80's. I myself would like to build a kx500 tecate....but I have not spoken with them about any other pipes at this point. Just google Jemco Exhaust and the contact numbers are listed. They are a small shop from what I understand, but the work is quility.

that is one good lookin pipe! What is the pipe right next to it being compared? 250dlz is CHEAP for a performance pipe! I may have to consider them if I ever get a liquid R again... Sweet deal dude!

yeah 250 isnt bad at all. i paid that for my nos bassani. i plan on going with a jemco pipe on my 86 t3.

So how does the performance compare to the others? Do they offer more than one pipe design? $250 for a brand new hand built pipe seems like a excellent deal... The baffle cone on the DG suggest less peak power but more over-rev.. I am curious

fire fire... they make a nice one for an air R as well.

We've all been clammering for these "other then DG" pipes for ever so why can't we get some one to get the deminsions off some of the ones they have and start welding them up our self? I hate algebra as much as the next guy but if we put our head together, we can do this.

I would rather see a "new" pipe design that isnt 25 year old... kinda makes me wonder how a newer kx pipe would run on the old short stroke engines.. I am half temped to put my '86 engine in my trike just to see..

I have been thinking about trying it.. I have wanted to put my '85/'86 KX parts stash to use in my trike, but the '86 style pipes wont clear my shock rezzie.. I think with one cut and twist in the head pipe my fmf fatty would fit the '86 cylinder..

Bump...
Jemco is still making these pipes. There are a lot of new faces in the group and it is hard for Tecate owners to find pipes. Thought I would make others aware that they are available. I just received mine and it took maybe three to four weeks to get it.

It has more topend than my Klemm pipe. I have only taken it out once since I got it. I had a DG on my other Tecate but immediately took it off and sold it. I wanted a pipe for my flat tracker build. I know Pete Baum ran this pipe on his Tecate and loved it.

This pipe does not come with a silencer. He said he could make one but would need the stock one. I think he quoted me $65 for the silencer.
