How can I check if bike is charging battery??

Hi,

How can I check if my bike is charging the battery (Yamaha 225DRS), everytime that I go out on it, I have to charge the battery the night before and it usually runs flat by the end of the day.

Maybe this bike doesn't charge the battery, I am not sure, or could it be the battery itself??

This is simple. with your volt meter take a reading at the battery with the bike off it should be between 11.3v-12.45v now start up the bike and you should see the voltage increase while at idle you should obtain a reading of something like 12.65V-13.85v this tells you that the battery is charging or at least the charging system is working. you can also do a voltage drop check by leaving your meter connected to the battery when you start it. when you start it the voltage on a typical 12v battery should not drop below 10 volts
