Ok--I have posted several times and finally took the damn machine to a mechanic.
Symptoms:
Difficult to start
would not idle
General pain in the ass for a such a simple machine.
Replaced: Carb, CDI Unit, etc..., adjusted valves
Turns out, the cam that was in the bike was an "RV" cam, and the piston, although it fit, was not correct. The original jug was bored .025 over and although the piston would fit, it wasn't correct. So pain in the ass to start, idle would race when it would heat up.
When it comes home, it will be complete. New plastics, tank, paint, tires, engine, tranny, everything.
