Well here is a short vid I made of the other day out on the lake. I just put it togather quick and there will be more to come. I gotta say that I love this CT racing pipe! It pulls wicked hard and still has alot of low end grunt. Now only if there were more people in the area so we could set up a lil ice racing!

I'd rather have heard the music from your motor than that "selection".

Heres another vid, I decided against the music this time lol But dude BLS rocks! Its prlly about 5 or 6 inches already, not quite sure how thick it is out in the middle tho..
You running studded tires?

Yeah, just running gold cutter screws in a set of old stockers. Loosing about 15 studs every time I go out lol Just to much honda power I guess:twisted:

So are your studs going all the way through the tire or just embeded into the 'knob' of the tire?
If all the way through - how are you combating air leaks?

There only 1/2" screws so there only running into the nobbies. One of the tires tho does go flat after a while but that is because there was a huge hole in the sidewall and its got about 4 plugs jammed in it. It works but it doesnt take long for it to loose pressure. Maybe later this winter Il beable to afford some decent tires to stud up.

I cant remember exactly off hand but there are the same ones that were on it when I bought the machine. Im pretty sure the its one tooth larger on the front and stock rear. But I would have to check

I'm thinking of studding mine up. I've never done it before. So you lose alot of studs? How can you avoid that?

i was thinking about drilling holes thru the knobs, then using machine screws, washers, and nuts, bolt heads on the inside. Then use some rubber to cover the bolt heads and use a tube. You could even grind the tips on the ends of the screws but don't think you would even need to. Only thing I was worried about was actually drilling the holes, I wonder if theres a special way to sharpen a drill to get it to cut a clean hole through rubber.

Id go for it man, it really is my favorite time to ride my trike especially if there are some quads out there to smoke! The tires that I have studded now arnt the best and thats why I keep tossin studs. There just too old and worn out, and the rubber compound is too soft. I cant remember off hand what tires most people use?
And thanks for the compliments! It still needs a 38 or 39 pwk and a reed set up, then it will really rip!
Most people use the cheng shin's - the really knobby ones.
I'm really wanting to do this but since I have to ride to the ponds/lakes I figure I'll just be ripping studs out.
I'm hoping the maxxis 4-snows might perform ok on ice?

I know that on bikes what they do to keep the studs from riping out they cut down a tire to put inside of the tire that they will stud in order to run longer screws. That way there is more rubber to hold the screws. Not sure if they do that on wheelers but Im pretty sure that thos chen shins dont have that problem if everyone seems to use them

I wish there was ice to ride on in mississippi. but no chance of that. i guess there is no reason for breaks when ice racing? and i bet it hurts like a mother if you flip.

Nice bike and sweet video. Looks like perfect hard ice, without the hassle of removing snow.

Eh brakes can help sometimes lol, not really needed for the most part. Man the ice this year is perfect, way way better then the last couple of years. For the most part it was smooth as glass before I went out there. But thanks for the compliments guys

I didn't think anybody in MN did 3-wheeler Ice racing. I just checked and you are only about 110 miles from me. I have been wanting to do some Ice racing but NOBODY aroung here does any kind of racing. Looks like fun!

Hey so there is another Minnesotan in here! But I have the same problem in my area! Its really a disappointment. Maybe some time we might have to set up a date to hit the lakes. I wonder who else on the boards is close??

You took the words right out of my mouth. I have a friend that lives in your neighborhood, I might have to make plans in the next few months.
I don't know about you but I see these guys at trikefest and the Glamis dunes and I wish we have more people that wanted to get together with ATC/ATV's. It seems everybody rides bikes and snowmobiles but when it comes to this NO ONE WANT TO. I even brought it up to the local trail riding club, since we haven't had snow the last 5 years maybe we should open it up to ATV's. They looked at me like I was the antichrist!:wondering
I am rebuilding my 85 250R as we speak and will need somebody to show me the ropes on the racing. Keep in touch!:beer

Im with you on that one all the way man. I dont understand why this state seems to lack so many enthusiasts who want to get out and ride?? It seems as if machines are fairly abundant but riders are hard to come by. Well we are gonna have to keep in touch and try get something going on around here, there has to be some more guys in the area who want to do the same thing.
Like my dad always told me, those who slide decide!

When did you start riding? I'm 34 so I have rode in the hay days of three-wheelers. I grew up on the farm and rode a couple 110's and 200's. I have just got back into the three wheeler thing about 4 years ago. When I go anywhere with my 86 350X all fixxed up it just turns heads. I tell people how many machines I own and their eyes get big. I tell them you have more into your brand new 500cc monster 4-wheeler (that you can't move if you get it stuck) than I have into all mine.
I see LOTS of 4-wheelers on trailors around here but non actually running under thier own power. :wondering

Well Ive been on wheels ever since I can remember. First time I got to grab a throttle was 4, dad put me on my brothers z50 and just let me go. He couldnt get me off. Ive been adictited to it ever since. Pretty much my hole life has revolved around wheels weather 2 or 3, I try stay away from 4 lol Last couple of years I hit it hard in District 23 hair scrambles for bikes, ended with 2nd in state last year. This year I didnt have a bike to ride for the most part so I kinda took a break from racing. Im moving more towards motocross again for next year hopefully.
But as far as three wheelers go, Ive been into them almost as long as bikes. First trike I rode was a US 90 my dad picked up cheap to turn around and sell. It was cherry with not a chip or crack in the fenders. Well he had a good reason for not wanting us on it, it found its way into my hands a couple times and it didnt stay quite as nice lol My father was a rep for honda in the 80's, along with traveling to all the dealers in his zone he managed to score all sorts of deals on trick mugen and nos parts. He had a flat track R he was building from the ground up with all the parts he scored. I dont think I have any pictures of that one but I know I do of a couple others he had. Well he figured it was taking up to much time and space, he was moving on to other projects too so he went and parted it out. But in the same period of time he found a beater 86 R for cheap. That was my first real trike to ride other then plain old hard tales. We never really did much to it other then ride it, I was only about 13 at the time. Our shop started to run out of space due to other machines and projects so ebay that one went too. I didnt have much say in it because it wasnt exactly my machine. Well now Im 17, got my own 86 R built up and restored. Had a few other trikes before but only for short periods of time and if i wouldnt have gotten rid of them I wouldnt have the R I have now
Theres a lot more that I havent even gotten close to scratching the surface on but that is just a little bit on my background :beer
