Yesterday I went over to the dunes with my friends for the day and i was racing a bunch of people on my 86 Tecate and it must have melted the piston because it just lost power all of a sudden and then lost all compression. This sucks but it gives me a reason to start looking for a 500 engine for it. lol The Tecate was running great before that happened. It was doing pretty good next to my friends 78hp Banshee, I couldnt beat him but was staying close with him most runs.

Yeah maby but it needed a new piston when I redid the bottom end but i cheaped out and re used the old one. I will have to tear it down next weekend, never got around to it yet.

What kind of mods does your engine have done?

It has a 39mm flatslide carb and a dg silencer and K&N, It didnt look like it was ported when i had it apart, he isnt the best rider and quite a bit heaver than me but it was still impressive for a mostly stock tecate.
