Cant go without definetly. Its a large diameter and fine thread. Its going to cost you a small fortune for the die itself. And after you use it once its useless to you. I would just buy a triple tree and be done with it. You could buy a metric thead file which can be found on Mc-Master Carr. Even then that may not have the proper pitch you need on it.

Buy a triple.

I am just about positive, The tripple tree post, is the same thread and pitch and size as the countershaft sprocket nut on the engine.
I thought I remember Ronnie saying that his billet triple tree nuts also fit the sprocket threads on the Z...Same as banshee sprocket nut too.
Dont hold me to this though.

EVERYONE should own a thread file....

Once you get into 14mm and larger threads, the die costs go up immensely. Now, if it's an internal thread, your screwed  but if it's just the stem I'd grab myself a file. I think they were about 20$ last time I looked and I use it often!!

This is a case were Harbor Freight doesn't cut the mustard!! A good tool will last years to come.

If you need it for your next project then buy two triple trees. Your not going to touch this die for under a $100. Bet on it. Not going to be found at Harbor Freight, Cummins tool sale, and or Chuck Homier.

Again specialized. Thread file if you want to try and save it. Used triple still best bet.

i keep wanting to turn the girl in your avitar around and grat that monster and pop it's top. ;) hahaa lol sorry ok back on topic.

the problem i have seen is by the time I go spend money and time on some of these parts, I could have found a used repalcement for the nearly the same cost in good or better shape. check out ebay, and the classifieds, you may get luchy and find some awesome deals.
