I am trying to find an extended swingarm for an '85 250sx but am having no luck. Does anyone know if one was ever made. I know that if I find one that I have to find an extended drive shaft as well, that will be fun too.

I personally have never heard of such a thing and can't imagine anyone ever made one.

I don't think you'll ever find one...

It's steel and easily extended though.

If you look into the ES and or Bigred you may find a solid driveshaft, not spring loaded like the SX, you may be able to graft something together.

Tere is a member here, I think his tag is "Name Brand" (?) Who took the rear from a 250 recon & made it work. There was a thread w/ details a couple years back.

I was hoping I could find one without having to chop and splice though I wasn't too confident that I would. I guess its not something too many four strokers would be interested in.

not on the sx anyways...they are common for the sport trikes, but not so much on utilities, especially utes with shaft drive...extending a chain is easy, not so for shafts

The members Name -- Is (Name Brand) he used a rear swing arm and axel from a 1985-87 Honda Fourtrax utilty model it will bolt right on but you will need to make a custom rear shock mount. It 2 or 3 inches longer than a 250 sx swingarm.

Mapyang is correct; the swingarm is three inches longer too.

I like it. Check my signature below for swap info.

A friend of mine has an extended swing arm on a Kawasaki KFX700 and those are shaft drive so I'm sure it's not problem to have one made or make one if you don't go the TRX route.
