I own a 1982 Yamaha 125 tri-moto and when I was riding I noticed that everytime I would go slow, it would die on me. When I put into neutral it revs up to the sky. This makes me mad becaues I just rebuilt it and it only has like 20 hours of ride time on it. I was running premix in it and oil injection too. Its okay I will just rebulid it again but if you guys have any ideas on what might of happened, I'd like to hear them. I will be gone intill next sunday so if you email me I wont be able to email you back until then. Thanks for your time. long live Yamaha!

You sure you blew it up? Sounds like you just ran out of gas.

Air leak, check all the connections between carb and engine.

Was it on choke?

Is the tank rusty and possibly you clogged a jet?

Yeah, man- Make sure you're getting fuel before you rip it apart again.

Reving up like that in neutral could be a sign of a lean condition. It could be that there is not enough fuel getting into the carb or a restriction in the fuel circuit in the carb. Running a 2stroke with a lean condition for an extended period of time can cause catastrophic engine failure.

I wouldn't suggest running permix and the oil injection. One or the other. But if it's running that lean then the injection isn't working right anyway. Just do away with it and start mixing it yourself.

When I put into neutral it revs up to the sky.

I have a 81 125 and mine started doing the high reving thing the other day also. Hoping that I can find the solution to my situation as well. BTW, no rebuild with mine. Would outside air temp make that drastic of a change with the reving?

thanks ever one. I'am going to do a compression test on it and clean the carb and change the plug. I think it might be the carb becaues there was alot of *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* in the gas can I used I just noticed.

also now that the weather is getting colder, that causes you to lean out as well, which probably exasperated your carb being clogged

put a filter on it that will help keep junk out of the carb
