is there a list of what kx parts will interchange with the 86 t3? i know of a few parts, but a full list would be nice

does the frame need gussets anywhere? theres a few cracks down by the foot pegs on mine. and probably more after i get it sandblasted.

Maybe you could start the list with what you know.

I found very little response about what parts interchange with 1986 Tecate when I first popped in here in 2005. But, I did get a lot responses asking me what I needed and that members had those parts for sale.

I recall a comment about "keeping this under my hat" when it was revealed the KXF250 Tecate 4 axle fits with a lock nut.

Many have said the T3 frame is weak and needs lots of gussets and factory welds redone.

Everything about the 1986 engine (except internal gear ratios which you have been told about) and brakes in 1984- atleast 1986. Early model and late model intakes/ cages. Late model case savers. Reeds from LT, KX, T4. Kickers T4, all years T3. Axle bearings/seals same as many LT, TRX. Can use rear shock from 300ex, raptor. I think LT250R shock is a bit longer but could be made to work. Pipe from (1985) 1986 KX and maybe more can be made to work. Chain buffers from KX. Rods and pistons for same bore/stroke KX KDX. 200ex, 300ex, 400ex, 85-87 LT250R hubs.

I would like to see an ATC 250R triple tree, forks, front wheel, brakes on one.

And I would like to know how the ATC 250R/ TRX250/ 300ex/ 400ex axle lines up?

an '85 KX250 engine will interchange with the '86 T3... the KX stem bearings are the same..

The 85 top end has different powervalves and porting, and most likely the lower end resembles the 86 KX250.
