Just got a quote to ship a ATC from CA to NJ. JC Motors gave me a verbal of only $2236.00. Maybe the moderators can start a sticky for shipping ATC'S?

Woah!! Wonder how they justify that price?
Maybe they just don't want the business....

I don't know man but I first did a online quote and it gave me that amount. Called yeterday and was quoted the same. I originally thought their online site was messed up. Go ahead and try it yourself. I think their looking for "suckas".

I had my 500 shipped from Kansas to Massachusetts by FedEx freight. Normally it would've been like 6 or 7 hundy, but they gave me a 50% discount through my work so it was like 3 or 4 hundo. I think they give most businesses that same discount. Check with your work or where your buddys and family work.

Wow it used to be 6 , 7 and change for JC motors. Was it the ATV section or motorcycles ....the motorcycle shipping is much more...crazy

I used them once before and that was about the right price. I was quoted for a ATC in the ATV section

I don't get this. Fuel prices have dropped drastically compared to just a few months ago, and you'd think they would take all the business they could get instead of overpricing it away.

Earlier this year, I had a Lincoln LS engine trucked from Kentucky to Alabama for $185. Check AAA Cooper(who I used) and see what they offer.

Edited to add:

My bad. This company doesn't go that far west. Still....check some other freight companies.

I use SBT (small business transportation). They have alway treated me fair. I had a trike shipped from Cali to Colorado $312. A Tiger from Wisconsin to Colorado for $265.

What did SBT charge you, OC for yours. from Colorado to NY?

I think around 400..(tied to a pallet) they said it weighed more and tacked 75 bucks on the orig quote.

I'm going to try Forward Air again. Prices are about the same. Used them a couple of times in the past. Everything in a locked crate (your lock). This is a 1 owner all original plus ATC. This ATC has a load of goodies on it ( one I never even seen before) and i don't want any booger sitting on it making believe he's a rider in the back of a truck. The last 250r I got (not crated) from AZ the shipper broke the fender and 1 tire was flat. Thought the tire had a slow leak, well it's been over a year now and i havn't had to change the air yet! Not sure but the tank might have been dented too. I believe the crate is the way to go for a piece of mind! Then you know no one messed with it. Thanks for all your sugestions!

10-4 on that one. Mine was just a roller, nothing special. Soemthing nice like an-original ATC needs a crate for sure.
