Over the past year something I've been seeing alot of ,are the little 70's and 110's,seem's like they have become more sought after than year's past ,with alot of guy's doing some pretty serious work to there machine's also.It seem's for year's now I've alway's had at least one or more of these machine's at the same time in my fleet of Trike's,it just would'nt be complete without a 70 or 110http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/100_7128.jpg.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/hondaatc_0049.jpg
These lil' trike's ai'nt just for the little kid's anymore it seem's ,it's like i'm seeing more of them ridden by younger college student's and ,35 year old construction worker's anymore. And there getting used from everthing from camp cruiser's and some are racing them.

Just wanting to know who's got either a 110 or a 70 or zinger or such, what you guy's use them for specificially and if anybody's building any hot rod's out of them, and what you's are doing to soop them up? I'd also like to see some pic's of them ,and if your building a 70 project for the winter ,what's the purpose is of the build( gonna race it or just put-put)? I know I see alot of member's who have them and just wanted to start a fun thread all about these trike's.

I've had quite a few of them ,and am alway's gonna have at least one in my stable all the time just to be-boop around on,but I'd like to build a modded one one of these day's.So what's your plan's with the 70's and 110's,anybody building one up ? And what are ya gonna use it for ?

Here's a couple I did up a few year's ago,I also have a few older one's that are slated for teardown's in the near future, and maybe someday ,i'll have that hot rod 70 I alway's wanted too..

I have plans for my 1st generation 70 this spring - Lifan 110 engine. The purpose of my engine swap is for a bit of an advantage for play racing. Also - I need to replace the old engine as it is unhealthy.

It seems when a bunch of us "Trike Nuts" get together -we always have to break out the 70s for a little flat track action.

This summer I will be putting together a little MX track for 70s only. Nothing huge mind you - little tiny jumps and lots of turns. Seems to really be catching on in the trike community.

I have 2 of them a '83 and a '84. I bought them for my son and daughter to ride. Thought it was a great way to get them into 3 wheelers. My son loves to ride, my daughter is so so. My buddy and me take them out in the fields once and a while to play. I will always keep 1 around. Might sell one in the near future to support a new project and make some room in the shed.

I have a nice 85' org/runner and a work in progress 84' mod 70. I will most likely do the lifan converson as well. I want a majic red button and some more cc to hall the load. I'm cutting down some forks and running a 200x axel. It will still be a hard tail, I just wanted front brakes. I'm not sure if this will all work out as planned but thats half the fun. If we all do a 70 TT mini track we could run our own backyard 70 series:lol: . Mosh you in?

Ive got a first gen "70" project .. Its on the back burner right now, still collecting parts here and there.. Ive got a chinnese 110 clutch motor for it, 18 trekkers on 10" rims with 2" spacers 4 on 130 bolt pattern, Basanni (spelling) pipe, 8' aluminum front rim gotta find a good tire size and tread for it yet, six pac rac thats a MUST, not sure if i wanna run 90-110 forks and keep the ridged look or do front suspension? Im gonna see if i can rig up hydrolic brakes front and rear.. I still need a gas tank anyone wanna help me out with that..

I see tons of costum and stock 70's at Tf next year.. Ther will be at least 2 at every camp, its the new epidemic... CANT WAIT

Tri-Z 250 is the '84 mod going to be the pink one? Or are you going to get another so the twins have stock ones and keep the modded one for yourself?

i dont know about 70's or 110's, but my dads got a 1972 atc us 90 K2, that moves real good, crank is stroked to a 110 stock stroke, 13 or so to 1 compression, he had webcam build him a cam which is the biggest he could find,
xl175 left side carb on it, he ported his own head, and assembled it himself,
right now his stock 90 will stay door to door with my sx until the top end of 4th when he runs out of gear, i dont know what his reasoning for going so far with it, i think it's just in some of our blood.

Some very nice looking bikes in this post!!!
You're gonna make me go buy new plastic!! lol

I've been rebuilding a 1979 atc70 for my son and am just about done with it, though it needs a few things such as new rear fenders and the gas tank done.
My problem is I haven't yet located a replacement decal for the gas tank and want to restore it to it's original look. (I know the seat should be black but my son begged for a blue seat)
Put a new carb on it since the old one was beyond reasonable repair. (It could be fixed but for $50 I got a new one no muss no fuss!
He's having a blast learning and riding it around the backyard. He still cannot start it on his own but can do just about everything else.

Here's a lil video from the other night (inaguaral ride after rebuild)

Good call bro, I am just switching out the forks(painted pink)you sold me. Then I'll add plastic and matching tank to the 85'. I want to restore the tank in time...The twins:crazy: still have 3 years but I'm sure another 70 is in the future...I still haven't told Momma about the frist 70 yet. Thanks to some sneeky shed work, bummer is I haven't rode it since she was in the hospital.

I've had 2 suspension 70s for a couple years now. My A+ framed 70, has a 124 lifan with manual clutch and kickstart and is getting some trick things done to the frame right now. Beefed up engine mounts and disc brakes front and rear too. As soon as all of that is complete, there will be pictures posted.
As for 110, I've been working on a big bore-stroker atc90 for a while now. It's a little tougher finding all the little special parts. I have those parts in an atc90 engine case with auto shift and the hi/lo gearbox, but as soon as I get the machine work done to my other cases, my engine will be handshift and kickstart. That was the way all the really trick atc90/110 engines were and that engine will not have the hi/lo gearbox either. Aftermarket frames are the way to go there too. In most cases the aftermarket frames are lighter, longer wheelbase for added stability and in some cases they are made lower to the ground for a better center of balance to help enhance handling. Wider and Heavier Duty axles are getting really hard to find as well as the trick parts too. Some people have had these parts laying around for years. People have also had atc90/110 trikes around for awhile and have rediscovered inexpensive fun. And if you and several friends have relatively stock trikes, it can make for some pretty close matched racing. Along time ago, these were the only racers available and even though they don't have the fancy suspension, can still be alot of fun.

Kasey, love those trikes I would like to do something like that for my son in a couple years he's 3 1/2 now. is it hard to add the suspension? Do you or some one you know have more details on what was done to the frame and what kind of swinger is being used? Again really cool lil trikes ya got.

I've been looking all over the Island for a 70, can't find it.
Maybe it will happen the same way as the R's, once I got the first, the others ones poured in.

I also thought about converting a pitbike.
How hard will it be to convert a 125cc pitbike to a trike? The easiest and cheapest way posible. Price is really important right now.
What axle to use (cheap and simple).
I'd like front disc brake: What hub could I use? Which front wheel / from what machine?
Stock pitbike tripples I can extend, I guess, right?
Then there's a front fender? which one to use? Where to get it?

Or maybe getting a chinese quad (just for the rear end / seat/ plastics) and 125cc (or bigger) pitbike and go crazy?
Prices seem to good.

Will that be a viable solution to a lack of 70's locally?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?????????
What do you think? Anybody has any clue??? So many questions...
Oh my GOD, this sickness...here we go again...:D

I'm building a 1980 Honda 110 right now. I am doing a cheap "restoration" as a 1979 clone. I learned how to ride and got into triking when my brother brought home a '79 Honda 110. I'm not too sure what I will do with it when I am done but at least it will look good!

I also have a 1985 Honda 70 on deck. That will get a 125m motor and 2" extended frame but otherwise look as stock as I can make it.

I've got a '73 that I have torn down. The motor runs great, but pretty much everything else needs work. Mostly it just needs cleaned and painted. When I get it built it's going to be all black with a few white accents. The tank will have vinyl stickers that say "Gagster" in a neat script. It'll have just enough chrome to look good. Not a ton.

The trike is going to have drag bars, a twist throttle, a low-profile flat track style seat, a relatively non-agressive front tire and the back will have hub extenders, possibly rims with a bit of an offset to get the wheels out even farther, and go kart slicks.

It will have no lights, no grab bar, and probably no fenders. Maybe a front, but most likely no rears.

It will be geared pretty steep to make it break those slicks loose easy and will at the very least have some porting done. I don't think I'm going to go big on the current motor. Maybe I'll sell the current motor to get a Lifan with more than 100cc displacement and a real clutch. I'm still not sure about that part.

This thing is going to be the greatest wet-grass drunk guy donut machine ever!

Here's a before:

you know...when we were little...we used to ride the PISS out of those little bikes.

I used to hit a 2 foot near vertical lift up onto a ridge at top speed...no hesitation.

prolly 2 to 3 feet of air...that was 200 pounds ago though.

70s might be the most fun motor vehicle out there.

We picked this guy up a year ago,not running with a bent valve.
It has been a SLOW project.
We put in a 85 engine, but I am not getting spark. So I have to figure that out.
We traded a graphics kit for this one.
The frame was bent and I have that straight now.
SYKO redid the tank for us.
We need to touch the frame and stuff up, get it running,We need new cables and chain and a chain adjuster shaft, to get it finished. This is what I needed the exhaust parts for roger.THANKS!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/cosmicquads/70800.jpg

This next one is a 83. We picked this up at the Mid Ohio Swap meet for $175.
He was asking 300$ But Mark in typical Garage boy fashion, jewed him down. :)
It had the plastic tank on it, but we have a orginal too.
We also picked up some pieces and here it is now. After a little work this one is a runner.
We had this one at Smith Rd.

those are all some really sick and trick trikes!! i have a '79/80 110 that me an my buddy are building a custom rear swing-arm (cutting part of the frame out of a redcat vx-200 frame for the main part) and making a custom shock mount/grab bar with the upper and lower a-arms from the same bike. I was wondering if anyone could help me out by telling me where i can find some hot parts for an original 110 motor at. i have 18 inch holeshots im putting on the back and would also like to a way to shock the front end (like a mini 250R look). any help or suggestions please?

Thought I would chime in for the Mad 70's gang, we play race most of ours pretty regular , anything from a110cc motor to 184cc, we have built close to 60 of these now but you rarely see more than 10 or 15 at once, heres some of my tribe http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac354/demonatv/72510Pictures003.jpg race day a couple years ago http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac354/demonatv/100_1554.jpg and a couple unfinished projects http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac354/demonatv/40600138.jpg
