Just thought I would continue the thread that Edog started so that you can see how the bike will be finished. So far I have done the following:

Trimmed the top off of the front fender (looked to much like it had a beak)
lowered footpegs and inch
raised the rear fenders and inch
tank is off to paint and will have it back this weekend
Seat is in transit and will be here Friday

Will have updates this weekend with the new finished pics.

Oh by the way, this thing flies. Very well built as well... Glad to be it's final owner.

Did you just added a spacer between the rear seat bracket?

You start off in second gear?

1 st was to much when you where turning. It's a torque monster!!!!

Have you opened it up all the way?

I would just say it's close to 55 mph.
17 tooth front, 40 rear.

To answer some questions:

Will I ride it, probably not a lot. I just like to have stuff. I am more into boats and Harleys. This will make a great conversation peice at the lake house this year.
A 1" spacer is what I made for the seat latch in the back. It was pretty easy.
I think I got it up to 60mph or so on the main rode here in MA.
I readjusted the clutch and I can use the first gear no problem. The clutch was actually slipping when I got it because of the way it was adjusted.

Anyway, I am glad to have it and will take great care of it.

It's a 2008 GPX 177cc pitbike motor. They come in the pitster Pro pitbike. Or you can buy a new crate motor like I did.

That tank came out sweet!!!! Now you need to have some custom GPX 177 decals made.

next look at swapping out the rear drums for disc. there's a couple of guys on here that have done it w/o issues.

ok question, where can i find the gpx 160 motors? i did a google search, and i haev seen a lot of writeups but not many dealers of gpx stuff. i have seen all the way up to a 183cc BBk that inclides the carb, head, piston and jug and other supporting parts. i have several 110 frames that this would be a nice swap for. anyway, thanks in advance!

I knew I had some friends in low places. Thanks for the support.

Disc rear, wasn't thinking about that. What I want to do is just get a caliper for the front and use that as my main source for stopping. I have my eye on a cople on eBay right now from a 200X.

All right, been riding this bike around for a few days and need to do a sproket change. I don't even need to use first gear (way to torquey). I would like more top speed but don't remember how to acheive this?

One point, the front sproket is a 17 tooth and cannot go any bigger because of room. Back is a 40 and my intial thought was to drop it down in the back to a 37 and leave the front the way it is?

Any suggestions?

12-02-2008, 10:09 PM
that will help some, think of a 10 speed bicycle, smaller the rear gear, more top end

200x350x
12-02-2008, 10:11 PM
put the 37 on..... smaller in back more top end bigger in the back more low end .......bigger in the front more top end smaller in the front more low end

oscarmayer
12-02-2008, 10:21 PM
yea get the 37 tooth. you can figure about an 8-10 mph gian bo goign 3 teeth msot likley. also putting a little taller tire onthe rear will also increase top end.

edog
12-17-2008, 08:25 AM
Your sprocket choices on the front limited. As for the rear...You will have have something custom made.

Vealmonkey
12-17-2008, 11:11 AM
Yes, you are starting to enter custom sprocket territory. Check with sunstar on what kind of sprockets that you can get from them. There was a place in florida that did custom sprockets, I think there name was Daytona or something like that. I hadn't dealt with them in years.

Not to kick a dead horse but just wanted to share the most recent pics of this little monster with everyone. I redid the seat as best as I could and put the rear spacers back on as I have modded the shed door so it will fit in. No action photos yet, just backyard crap. I have had it out in the trails once but all the snow came quickly. This photo was taken 10 min ago. All the snow is gone. Will post some action shots hopefully this weekend.

I love the way this turned out. Very comfortable to ride.

I am just waiting for the lake here to freeze over so I can get it out and open it up. Still water showing currently. I will take it out for a trail ride this weekend and bring the camera with me.

I put on a new rear brake lever ( I am more comfortable with the hand brake then the foot). New 45 tooth rear sproket that I just got today as well. Just got to figure out how to put it on?? Seams I have to take apart the whole rear axle..

3 cans of Pam cooking spray. Smells good as you ride as well... No just kidding. The snow was all packed and frozen so you just ride on top and hold the throttle wide open. You could stand on the snow it was so hard.

Been riding pretty much daily on the lake here in MA. Bike is completly dialed in. Put on the new rear sproket, made a huge difference top end. Also took the twister off and put a thumb on it. Much more comfortable for me anyway.

Came back from a ride today and thought the bike looked good so I snapped a pic.

If you only knew how much I love that thing, that is so cool. I've owned my 110 for like 20 years, always wanted to hop it up. I might just have to copy what was done there.

Few things, where is the best place to get those engines,
Did you do the rear disc conversion, if so, how?
And what exhaust is that,
What front forks are those?

I think smaller back tires might look cool.

Well after several trips out to the trails it was time to replace that old stock frame with a new Bandito racing frame. Enclosed are pics with the new frame installed. As you can imagine, this is now a totally different riding bike. The fact that it is longer and more rigid makes it more fun to ride. Does not want to seam to wheelie as easy anymore. Also, put a smaller 22" front tire on it which makes look 100 times better.

Enjoy.

All together parts total - $1700

oscarmayer
08-03-2009, 08:54 AM
wow $1700 on a 110. do you realise that's a fairly perfect 350x or 86-87 200x in mint shape? or 85-86 250r in mint shape? but i do know the feeling!!! lol

i have started a new thing, if I'm going to psend more than $1100 out of pocket on it, then it's going to already be done and in very clsoe to mint as possible. I currently have $980 into my 82BR total. and will have $1050 into the 250sx when completed. but that's ok it; sstill jsut under my $1100 limit. lol i'm such a goof!
