Does anyone know if the 2nd generation (1978-1985) ATC70 motors fit in the 1st generation (73&74) ATC70s????

I noticed that on my 1st generation there is a neutral indicator switch under the chain guard which leads me to believe that the motor would be interchangeable with the trail 70s and C70 bikes. Although the bikes had kick starts - I also believe you could adapt the pull starter to them with the ATC side case and flywheel cage..

Another option I am looking into is a new Lifanin my 74 ATC70.

Any info from experience (no I thinks or I guesses) would be very helpful as my motor is not very good.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim if someone confirms that they interchange go with the GPX engines. They seem to be the favorite for the pit bike guys and a 160cc 4 speed manual would be awesome in a 70. Its the route I'm goin
