Just wanted to say hi.
I have a 84' 200ES I recently bought, she needs alot of work. Bought it off a buddy of mine, last time it ran was about 3 yrs ago. Key is lost, I took the wiring to switch, according to shop manual it looks like if you connect the red/yellow red that gives power to the wiring harness, connect black/green wires that kills power. Would that be correct?
Thanks

Actually the complete switch that the key fits into was gone, I had the female plug left, that would plug into back of switch left.
Personally I'd like to put on a toggle switch setup if possible

Local Honda dealer did that for me on my 82 XL500R, my 76 GL1000, and my 73 CL350.

Welcome to the boards. Invest in a nice "Honda" shop manual. You'll thank yourself later. Good luck with your project. Get some pictures on here.

Welcome aboard Saltbranch, glad too see yet another '84 Big Red in the unsamble of the trike community.I agree with Vealmonkey ,invest in a decent workshop manual or download one,it's almost a neccesity ..
I cant remeber the color codes off the top off my head. But it is easy to figure out with a voltmeter. You will have a supllied power, which will be hot. A ground, then one or two control wires. Take your meter and find your ground and your power. Then i would take an inline fuse setup just to be on the safe side and run a jumper to one of the empty spots. I am pretty sure this will be yellow or orange. Now check and see if you have power to the ignition. Then put a toggle inline. Some models have a auxillary wire coming from the ignition.
what part of Texas are you from.

I Broke the ignition on my 200m I used to have so I just disconnected the wires that wired the ingition into the harness and it worked fine.
