Well around a week ago me and a friend spotted what was a yard kart/go kart frame in a scrap yard. Well having nothing better to do and 20 bucks we had ourselves a project. First thing I wanted to do was figure out what motor it had to get it running. (no spark) Well about an hour of digging deep into google I finally figured out what we had was a atc 110 frankenkart (basically a 110 minues frame and front fork.) Being a hp freak I've been looking around for ways to modify it. I saw that there was a link here on an article about headwork right? And DRatv.com/beatrice cycles sales a nice upgrade of a cam. I've also read that a person can put a 24mm carb on it (Mikuni TM24?) Can you bore out the cylinder and use a 125 piston? Can you use the crank from a different engine? Thanks.

no , you cannot bore out the cylinder and use a 125m piston, i beleive the thing to do would be take a crank, jug, rod, and piston out of a 125m and swap them in to the 110, does make a bit of diffrence, i've had both a 110 and 125m and a 125 will spank a 110. the 125 has more stroke, stroke is what get's u movin and feel in the seat of your pants. hope this helps good luck.

I would modify the Kart to accept a larger engine... Building a 110 for HP is a going to be a disappointing experience..

drop a 125 onto it and be done. you can find a 125 motor in running shape for about $150+shipping or heck get one of those leflin motors that's a 130cc for what? $350 new with starter and everything?
