I need help with my 1985 250r

My atc is running bad so I had my friend come over and he said my kanootion valve is stuck wide open.I think some of you older guy's might know what this is or how to fix it in detail.I might sell if I can't fix that k-valve :Beerchug .

Oh yea...that'll do it every time! I've never had to fix one, but I know they go bad constantly! I also hear 250r's are the worst! How much you looking to get for it if you sell?

I was wondering if its the upper or lower one ? it seems that the lower one seems to stay cleaner than the upper one i think it is beacuse its closer to the kanootion valve adapter plate ,,,, i would see if the upper one is stuck first.

the kanootion valve is a major job. depending on the damage it may be cheaper to buy a new engine on ebay. when mine went bad the 350x's could ALMOST hang with me :shock:

IF you do the the 86 update on your 85 it will help alot. by putting the exahust gas bypass channel thru to the top valve it seems to create a swirl effect that eliminates the normal amount of residue, i did it to my 85 and it works great. i was told that late 85's were updated at the factory .i don't know the serial #break was thoo...

you better check your Noggin-Madinger cut off switch, and your HopScotchammabobber valve. they always co to hell on those un-reliable honda's
