can someone tell me what the part is called on the top of motor, with the motor mount about inch and a half long?:

ah ha, probablly right if its on the right hand side and looks like # 5 in the diagram under 1985 350X cylinder head

its on top of the jug and it has a motor mount attached

head cover or valve cover....both mean the same thing
