So i was ebay and stumbled upon this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-honda-250sx-250-sx-atc-3-wheeler-runs-great-trike_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1240Q7c39Q3 a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q 2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem110306981158QQitemZ1103069811 58
What you guys think? The one thing that worries me is that I think its the same guy that i dealt with last time with that red sx that he wanted WAY to much money for. Any ideas on a fair price for this machine?
Thanks guys!

i would say 600 to 800$ more towards 600, 86 is a good year, much better rear end set up than 85, plus i think the red, white, and blue look better than the red and black i think, definately no more than 800.

I doubt you will touch that machine for a dime less than $800. that is in pretty nice shape. If you can get it for $400 - more power to you, but I think you are dreaming.

well it really depends on where you live, around here u cannot touch a respectable sx for under 500$, but i'm in west michigan, sometimes i look out in california on craigslist and they're sellin junk for 800$, that 86 looks decent, if you look at it listen for sounds from the rear end, thats what there most common for.
also listen to see if the cam chain is tight and not rattling around ( u can hear it plain as day). make sure to drive it and see if it drives straight, look for bent forks, rear shock bushings, fork seals, and look at the oil, you can usually tell if it's been maintained decent by looking at the oil, if the oil smells like gas and is dark brown or black, she's probably not been well taken in care of.

Im really suprized you all think its worth 800. In my experiences i can usually find a pretty nice 85 for 600+. Some on ebay have been nicer and gone for cheap. Maybe due to the fact its an 86? 800 is a bit out of my price range.

It looks like a $600-$700 deal to me. The rear plastics are wounded and it needs new tires. Yeah, Trail Pros need to be replaced no matter the condition of them. I had an 86SX and loved it. I bought it for around $550 but the expensive parts(plastics and tires) were in much worse shape than the one youre looking at. plus, it had TP's too. :(

Ok well i talked to the gentleman about the trike and he is firm on AT LEAST 800! Its nice but not THAT nice. I wouldnt go more than 600 on it. He was hoping for 9!
Freaksfix- i looked at yours and i think its a great deal but i was looking for something a little more turn key and go. Definatly keeping it in the back of my mind if nothing turns up and appreciate the time!

Well.... In this economy - There are some great deals out there - but an 86/87 250SX IMHO is well worth 600$ and upwards.
Everyone should expect to see broken plastics and dented tanks from 2 decade old trikes, otherwise, they would be selling for 2 grand or more!
If I could find running 1986 trikes for about 400$, I'd probably have 25 more trikes.
I've owned allot of 250SX's - some I paid 175$, 350$, 500$ or 800$. The cheap ones had bad rear ends and starter/ charging problems or slipping kickers. But even the good/great and more expensive ones didn't have good plastic. There is too much weight and too many points of failure on OEM SX plastic. The back storage is great, but it doesn't help keep it strong.
I guess it's just what your willing to pay but don't let anyone down it, it could be very well worth 800$.
I'll say it again - ANY good running mechanically sound and decent looking ATC will cost you 2000$. Yes there are great finds and deals everyday but I'm just talking about the average final cost of a great running trike thats tight............................
