350x Restoration

[Big Daddys 350x]

Hello everyone! I am restoring two three wheelers, one is a 85 350x the other is a tri-Z. So I will be bugging everyone.

My first question is, where do I get an oil pump for my 350x? Not sure if mine is bad or not, is there a way to tell? I cant find one, and would like to replace it.

I also took out the back axle, and the sproket wiggled off the hub. Is that normal? You could wobble it around. It had play forward and backward and wobbled from side to side.

The front sproket on the engine wobbled also. Is that normal? I own a hot rod shop and these two bikes are for my brother and I. So I am way out of my league here. My brother doesnt know that his is being restored (the tri-z) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Iv never seen the sprocket hub wobble off an axle befor i think there pressed on iv never got one off befor havnt realy tried eaither though and my 350x front sprocket wobbled and i took it off to find that the shaft its on had worn teeth ill be replacing it.

Thanks for the info. The front sprocket shaft is ok. I was told by a bike shop that, that was normal??

for a oil pump you can use a 300ex oil pump according to swigin you just have to use the 350x gear.

Its not likely that you need a oil pump. Pull a rocker cover off and fire the engine up to see if you are getting oil to the top-end. The front sprocket should be loose.

....um, considering if that oil pump goes any work he does is toast in a matter of a minute, why not spend the extra 20 bucks for a new oil pump?

Thanks again! I am sure it will be alot of work, it already has been. But I am having fun doing it. I am trying to get them both done. To take a trip to little sahara early spring.
