I have a 200 Big Red that has a weak spark. I did a search and a good direction in where to start. I took the spark plug off and left it connected to see what kind kind of spark kit had. I saw one good, strong blue spark and that was it. The plug was black as the ace of spades. The next day I started it and it started right away. Soon after I started it, I remembered that I did not turn the gas on at the petcock. I turned it on and died right after. Much later that day it started with the gas off and I ran it for a while and then turned the gas on and it ran fine til I cut it off. Anyone have any idea what the heck it could be??? I am going to buy a new spark plug tomorrow to make sure that the plug is good and go from there. Any suggestions will be mush appreciated. I am thinking that it is the coil. Anyone wanna take bets on to what the problem is. I'll buy the winner a Lone Star Beer hat from www.lonestarbeer.com

I guess you could tell I've had a fewand seen what websites I've been cruisin'.

Fuel mixture too rich or slow jet clogged.

try running with the air cleanner off and air box cover of, if it runs better try adjusting your carb floats and the poilet jet, the screw on the outside of the carb point down on thge back side. a good plug wouldn't hurt either.

I had the same problem,It's your CDI
Habitually when he won't start removed the CDI and just reheat the box with your hand for 2-3 minute and he will fire up right now,it seem that it's a common problem for the 200es.it's the same in the trx200 84 and trx125 86-86

Actually it was the key switch. There was a direct ground from a wire that would activate the starter and ground it out, killing the fire to is as if some one had cut the key off.
