There is a lock nut in the rear of the 250 es Big Red by the drive shaft .I got the first nut off and the other peice out now I have to replace the bearings and I can't get the lock nut off in front of the bearing on the little gear by the drive shaft side of the rear .Are there any tips on getting this off with recking it .I have a manual and it don't tell you how to remove it ,does it unscrew or is it pressed in like the bearings .Any and all help would be great .Thanks ,svo58

i'm pretty sure it's the same as my bike a 200es, 2 big nuts, lol usually the first nut is the easy one, but the second one is a pain. i used 2 pipe wrenches and 2 pieces of pipe to use as leverage. use alot of pen oil and try to work it out. good luck with it.

What I am talking about is where the drive shaft goes into the rearend .When you take the dive shaft out of the rear you have a seal then a nut then a nut like thing that has splines in it (it's where the drive shaft goes into) then there is a nut lock then the bearings .To change the bearings I have to get the nut lock off ,it looks it is pressed in but I am not sure .do anyone know how this is done .I need help please .Thanks ,svo58

I got mine out using a tool I built out of a pipe union. I can't remember exactly what size it is but take your differential to the hardware store and you can take the unions appart and see which one fits. All I did was weld the hex part that fits to a peice of pipe and use a pipe wrench to turn it with. I had to put my differential in a vice between two peices of plywood to hold it while I unscrewed it.
