yeah when i pulled the carb the main jets were completely clogged, the float bowl was clean though. ill try cleaning it again and a new fuel line tonight and some fresh gas

spray starting fluid / ether in the carb and see if it stays running. This will answer your question - if it runs you have a fuel problem with the carb, tank, or lines or filter if you have one.

Spraying the fluid into the intake boot or air filter will bypass the carb....

quick, easy way to tell if its a carb problem....

could it be a timing problem? a friend of mine had a look and he said thats most likely what happened?

Did you spray starting fluid in the carb? If not you need to try it...seriously...
