Hey all, someone was saying on this to me a while ago about using silicone around the exhaust flange on the 250R and it stops the gunk from comin' out around the motor. I have some silicone made for making gaskets with a temperature rating of 329 degrees celsius, should that be good enough to put around my flange?

Yes, but 400 degrees fahrenheit. Celsius is lower for the same temperature. 400 degrees celsius equals out to 752 degrees fahrenheit.

I would think that would work.

What about Red RTV? I've used it on snowmobile exhausts and it holds up...

thanks, ill was looking at my flange today and it has an O-ring, so it must be something bought aftermarket; Anyways i think ill try my silicone, if that dont work, ill buy one of those flanges fox linked to; that looks like a dandy bit of machinery :naughty: thanks for the reply's!

Ditto for me too....

I have two different ones on my bikes and they both work great. The double O-ring flange will cure your problem.

Dammit!

Another vote for the billet double o-ring flange. Every R I ever own from now on will have one.

Ebay is not always the cheapest option by the way. ;)
