Well, I installed a 27" tire on my BR today, a 27x10-12 Mudlite (kind of agressive but all I could find locally). Between the tire and the rear lift I gained about 1-1/2" of ground clearance at the belly. The tire is 26" tall on the rim, 3" taller than the so called 25x12-9.

Here is a couple of pics. I'll have some better pics later.

The rim is an ITP Delta steel wheel, 12x7, 5+2 with 4/110 bolt pattern.

Those are just like the ones I got from dennis kirk for my rear. I need to get one for the front too as my 26 rears are alot taller.

My next set of tires will be 26 or 27 for the rear.

Does your rim have 8mm or 10mm bolt holes? Mine are 10mm, so I am going to have to find a spacer or bevelled nuts as the studs on the Big Red are 8mm. I centered them and tourqed them down good for now.

Well my 87 big red already had the tapered lug nuts so it worked fine with the rims I got.

Do you know if all 87's have the tapered 8mm nuts?

Well the 86 and 87 Big red and SX's had them, then the 86 250r and 86 350x. Now there might be more that had them but those are the ones I know of.

Do you happen to know where I could get 4 of them, or do you have a Honda part#?

I can't find an 8mm beveled anywhere locally, and honda is not sure the one listed in their parts book is actually bevelled. Besides, they want $6.00 each, so an aftermarket would be nice.
