Anyone out there know where I can get a connecting rod for an '87 Honda ATC 200X? They're now discontinued by Honda. I'm having real trouble finding this.

Looks like those guy's have it. I tried adding the rod to the cart and it didn't say out of stock or anything. I would order it or call them, Alba sports are good people with better prices.

It doesn't look like it is discontinued. I found it on these guy's site too: http://www.cyclepartsnation.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/7/Honda.aspx. If it was discontinued it would say not available in the item description. Looks like they have it for $68.

could a connecting rod from a trx200sx work? the are pretty much the same engine, apart from the 200x being kickstart, manual clutch and a slightly different top end

I've been able to get the rod. But not the pin, bearing and thrust washers....

People who build engines that give a chit can fix rods for us.....

The problem with the OEM parts sites is that although it looks as if the '87 rod is available it's not. I called local dealers as well and they say it's discontinued. I don't know where to get one to get this 200X running again. Anyone out there know even a used one?

Used cranks are plentiful, but the LH threads on the clutch side are always destroyed because people are too stupid and thickheaded to read the repair manual before they consider themselves a mechanic

Your gonna have to find used parts or a shop willing to tackle it otherwise... With a 12:1 piston, I don't expect my crank to last too long.

Are the 86 and 87 the same? Ive got a spare.

Ive got a spare 86 200x motor thats pretty much destroyed. The cases are broken and brittle, the head is JUNK (dropped a valve and DESTROYED the head) piston is a 10.25:1 Wiseco .020 over and seems to be OK, has 1 ding in the top but it VERY slight, the cylinder isnt bad at all not scored....

The clutch basket is DESTROYED. I has to use a hammer and air grinder to get th damn nut off. This is NOT the left hand thread nut.... I needed my new clutch plates out for the new motor....and the nut rounded off with the air gun....

the Crank and rod however are in really good shape and the left hand thread is NOT messed up lol. oh yah... the tranny is in good shape too...

If you want, make an offer on what you need. I also have basically enough parts to make another 86 200x minus just a few things...

I also have my 86 200x that I just finished and painted.... thats up for grabs too...make an offer. There are pics on the forum search and you will see if interested. I also have pics of the motor and the parts.....
