86 350x carb question..

anyone know where the little rubber plug is supposed to go on my 86 carb,there is the main jet the 2 other ports so to say,one seems to go nowhere and the other has a jet in the side of the port,my manual shows nothing,what does it do?? and why is there a baffle on the main jet post,whats the purpose of that?? thanks for the help...

even the dealer doesnt know,actually if its not a 2000 or newer they dont act interested.....clowns...

post a pic of this rubber plug. As for the baffle it helps deal with fuel (slosh sp?) shortages when riding hard

i will try,its small like the size of a pencil eraser,but black,and fits in either of the 2 "jet housings" behind the main jet,it fell out while i was doing my cleanout

Sounds like you're describing the tip of the float valve . I don't see anything else in this picture from ebay like what you're describing. The float valve is inside the top left gasket in the picture if it's not obvious
