Today I put a new champion spark plug in my trike and took it for a ride - trike didn't feel to run as well with the champion, I dunno.

So I kept riding and my silencer fell apart on the trail. I just threw it in a brush. It's ruined anyways. Got the bike home and decided to make a trip 45 minutes outta town to look for more NGK spark plugs and some amsoil 2 stroke mix. (using CRAP mix right now)

Actually found the NGK plugs AND some amsoil mix!! At the same time I picked up an NGK plug cap and a sprin puller. (for exhaust springs)

When I got home I changed the oil in my big red and took it for a quick ride.

That's what I did with my trikes today - how about you?

Haha, speaking of gas - I did the EXACT opposite -I ran mine outta gas just as I got in my driveway - the bike started revving to the MOON - so I revved it hard and popped the clutch to stall it. It wouldn't shut off with the kill switch. Gave me quite the fright. hehe. :TrikesOwn

I modded the poly bushings for the trx450 swinger and got it mounted in my 85 250R also tightend down the rear brake calip put the rear sproket on, modded the chain guard to fit the motor/front sproket and mounted it, took a link out of my chain and rotated the rear housing so its at the correst tightness.

Trimmed the rear fender where it meets the heal guards

tightend up a few bolts on my forks

added the short spring back to my forks

gatherd up all the parts I need for it

made a list of parts I need for it

sat in a lawnchair for a few minutes and pictured me roosting away on it

that was my day

edit: keep walking back to it... lol

modified the stock skid plate to work with my nerf bars (had to cut out the skid were the front mounts are, tried to see how far off my 250R skid plate is.... to much... OMF PLATE FOR SALE!

Hmm, what did I do with my trikes today?
Well after my exciting auction with the 200R went to hell, I walked outside the shop looked at it and shook my head, swung my leg over it, started it up, and blasted down the asphalt at about 80 mph with it. Ahh, I feel much better. My 86R I started dissassembling and getting ready to send parts out to the powder coater.

I hear that! When I first got my R it was my first trike with a clutch - lol - I was like HOLY HECK! Came from an 86 350 4X4 Fourtrax and a 85 Big Red - so I was just shocked and stoked!! Fell in love in less then 60 seconds.

Only other bike I owned with a clucth was a 750 Shadow motorcycle when I was 16-18 - a few moons ago. Couldn't imagine not owning atleast one bike with a clutch now.

Anyways - congrats on your new trike friend! :TrikesOwn

I think he meant the 85. I think youd only need a 39 if you were running the Mugen 360 kit lol.

I didnt work on my trike today, but i worked on the IT490 :banned:

I put some working forks on my 87 bigred. The ones that were on it were locked solid and would not even begin to come apart. I also fixed my bent for ell front rack and rerouted all of the really whacked wiring. The dude that owned this thing before me really did a number on it.

What I did today....
Stripping down side covers for my 250sx, gonna powder coat them tomorrow, rebuilding it. Already did the jug and head, my brother put new valves and polished the head, new rings and she's as good as new.
But that just wasn't enough, so I decided to tear down the 70 and I took it completely down stripped the frame, sitting right next to me as I type. So now I'm gonna powder coat it tomorrow too and then start working on the rest of the parts as well as the 250sx side covers....\
Having a blast restoring all these bikes, lotta work and coin though!!
Monday it's fishing!!!!

Gotta enjoy it while ya can!!

Here is an old airfooler with a 39 pwk and vforce3 reeds and several other things done to it including being finely tuned:naughty: .what that big carb took from the bottom end on the 300 it put back on the topend x2. Not too many people could benefit from it though.

I used my SX to pull the 110 and a 125m up the hill to a better storage spot next to my new shed. After that I moved 38 bundles of 3-tab shingles for the shed roof. I put four bundles at a time on the SX and ran 19 bundles to each side of the shed from where the pallet was in the driveway.

I really should say shop. It's 16x24 with a 10 foot wall and vaulted ceiling. The main door is 10 wide x 9 high. I'm putting a loft in the back 6 feet of it too. This will be my new trike/truck/crazy project space and gear storage.

I also sat on the 70 and made v'room noises today.

Well... Yesterday I celebrated getting my BR running by getting the chains off the tires and blasting it up and down the alley a few times. The KLT got a workout ferrying people back and forth to the neighbor's garage. Big Country ran my 350x down to my house from his garage to hang out and drink a beer so I took it for a little rip around the yard. When we put it away I patted the battle trike lovingly on its little head and promised it a new battery soon.

Today I'm going to go pick up some new stainless hardware to put my BR's plastics and racks back together and maybe get the headlight and wiring back together.

Dammit!

I'll be driving to pick up several parts I won on ebay in last second snipes. Got a gas tank for five bucks, front gold wheel for five bucks, a front skid plate for I think 2 dollars, rear hubs for 11 (a little high for me but I needed them, lol) and a set of radiator hoses and the coolant bottle for a few bucks. Local auction so no shipping. :D

Today I put a new NGK plug cap on and put in a new NGK plug (feels much better then the champion) - went and did the 'plug chop' test - 1st time I've ever did it. My results were what I expected - I look to be pretty good, maybe a small bit rich but atleast I'm not running lean.

So I rode around for a couple hours enjoying the seat I jury rigged onto my frame from my 4x4 350 fourtrax - it's much more comfortable then whatever the guy who owned the R had created on those yammy plastics - ugh. So anyways, I've ditched those plastics and seat and will run this fourtarx seat and no plastics until I can get PROPER 250R plastics and a seatpan.

I get really muddy/dirty/wet without plastics but who cares - thats half the fun.

Oh and when I got home and took a look over at the ole Big Red Chopper I noticed the tank has a NEW gas leak so now it's gotta be drained, stripped, JB Welded and repainted AGAIN/. *groan*

Learned a couple lessons tonight!

1. Always bring a multi-purpose 'tool' on a ride with you, like a swiss army knife or something because of things like number 2 -

2. Never try and cross deep water with an open element air filter and a leaky carb intake.

LOL! I spent an hour on the beach looking for a makeshift screwdriver to remove my carb to drain out the water after sinking the bike in some deep water trying to cross a water crossing. Finally found a hard piece of plastic - got the carb off and drained it - after a dozen or so kicks she came back to life - had to 'pin'
the throttle for about 15 seconds to keep her running and get good gas going through her. Finally got her running good and BOOTED it for hom - in the dark with NO headlight.

3. Install a headlight if you plan on night driving.

Anyways, got her home - put in a new plug just to be safe, cleaned the air filter, took the carb off and cleaned it and blew it out and fixed my front fender I ripped off on the CRAZY ride home in the dark.

ADVENTURE!!

I proved that Hondas are the best trike around today. Me on my 250x and my cousin on his 200e rode for about 3 hours in the morning, mostly mud, trees and those weeds u cant see over or through, making new trails and getting lost way out in the woods. Then cleaned horse stalls for about an hour and wound up racing my cousin (each of us hauling manure). Then i used a small tine drag (tractor implement) which my sx doesnt kno is behind it, to do some leveling . Then hit the trails for another hour or two. im now thoroughly pooped and will prolly ride again 2morro on account of columbus day which is however, not as good as leif ericsson day.

Just to 'test it out' to make sure it worked while waiting for the mounting bracket to arrive, I 'black taped' my headlight onto my 250r, wired it up, kicked it over and hoped for the best. (I had NO idea if the switch for the light still worked or not) Fired the bike up and nervously flipped the switch on and - YES - it worked!!

Shut her down, waited two hours for it to get dark and ran out and took her for a ride - so much fun driving in the dark with a working headlight!!

Being so happy that it worked - I came in the house, got on ebay and bought a silencer, rear brake lever and foot shift lever!

Sweet Jebus! Wen't for a ride - about 10 minutes into the ride the bike got really loud. I check the pipe and all three bolts holding the exhaust flange to the engine were blown out - gone!

*groan* Always - always something!!

So I get home - don't have any replacement bolts on hand, decide to tackle it tomorrow. Had a look at the 4X4 Fourtrax and decide to try and start it. It won't start now either.

I started the R , the X and the S to check the voltages that are put out by them. I found that all 3 put out 12 Volts AC - NOT DC as you would find in a battery or your car.

I was told wrong by a lot of people that they put out DC and that the regulator had a built in rectifier. This is obviously not true. The R, X, and S do not have rectifiers and do not put out DC voltage - this means that if you want to run a cell phone charger or GPS you need a rectifier, battery and a dc regulator to do it right.

It was too cold to ride in my dress shirt and pants so I opted not to. I just started them and listen to them purr. I wish I had more summer since I just got the R done...... what a shame...

I guess it'll be snowboots, bibs, gloves, hat, and a winter jacket now.... so much more time to get ready, lol.... BUT... SNOW DONUTS, Jumps, and DRIFTS!!! Its gonna be a crazy winter fo' sho! lol. Only had the X in the winter.... Im gonna put the taller more aggressive tires on the R for the winter.

Well today I repacked the pipe on my 200x, went riding with a bunch of quads on my 450 then came home and rode my 200x some more around the yard trying to get it tuned in better. Then noticed gas was leaking out the float bowl, so I had to rip it apart and put a new one in. Real nice day for riding though

LOL, light bulbs run on AC OR DC. It doesnt matter. With the small bulbs its all the same.

Its AC for SURE.

Spent today powder coating the atc70. I took it apart a couple weeks ago and started cleaning it up piece by piece. Finally getting to the point where I can start reassembling it. My son was not too happy, in fact got pretty upset to see it laying in pieces and I assured him repeatedly that it would be OK lol, we can rebuild it ......better.......faster.....stronger.......
Today he was so excited to actually see some of the progress he wrote a lil booklet showing the various stages ...before, in pieces, after, and left the last couple of pages for future progress. Needless to say I ate it up.
Anyway here are some pictures.

Was it stripped?

Ya, partially, had too much play in it and the bolt wouldn't clamp it down enough. The previous owner had an 81 - 82 R engine in the thing and instead of getting the correct, shorter shifter shaft, he literally cut a notch in the frame to fit it. That meant that I had to remove the engine every time I wanted to remover the shifter shaft, so this time I just said screw it. :beer

Jebus. Well, glad you got it 'fixed' !

Personally, didn't do much with my trikes today - started to prep the big red tank for another patch job and re-paint. Looked at my R and swore the fact I can't get any flange bolt's locally. Then told both trikes 'sorry' as I kicked over the 350 4x4 and wen't for a ride.

I did pick up a couple nice utility carts today! One is a woods cart (to carry cut logs out from the country) the other is a nice 'dump' cart - good for carrying gravel or sand and you can easily 'dump' the stuff from her.

So today my headlight mount arrived. Geez - looked pretty straight forward to install and mount but it just doesnt seem to fit right. I dunno. Hard to explain really.

AND - I got a funny feeling the holes where my flange bolts are to go into the engine are stripped. At least the very top hole is more then likely stripped.

I had some bolts kicking around that seemed to be of the right size but they would not go 'tight' at all and they just fell right out of the top hole!!

And I can't freaking find 3 6x18mm bolts anywhere around these freaking boondocks!!!

$680 with a plow. It was rolled once before I bought it, but it is a low hour bike. I don't think that I have driven it in dirt since I bought it. I only use it for a plow bike on the ice. Other than that it sits in the garage. I prefer to ride my 85R.

So I used them anyways with washers and they tighjten up good - except the top hole which is stripped and will probably have to be tapped I guess.

Anyways - got her fired up and took a lil ride and the bolts didn't come loose hopefully they will hold up.

Running a muffler but no silencer.

I did lower my needle clip and I think I have it one notch too low.

So, would running no silence add to the bike running rich?

Yamatrike400
11-01-2008, 02:42 PM
Not really, it would make it run more lean, but i was just wondering because usually when you don't have a muffler it will 'sound' like its running rich in a video. id put a silencer on, you can burn it up easily without one, and you are losing some performance.

Been holding off on running/riding the 250R because I have no silencer on the bike. So I decided to get at the quad (86 350 honda 4x4) - it needed a new battery so I went and picked up an exide super crank select. Got it home and filled it up with acid and haveit on charge out there now.

But SO want(ed) to ride the R. Came in the house to have dinner and heard a knock on the door - postman!!

So after lunch I'm gunna head out in the shed and install the 350's battery, stick a new plug in her and then install the silencer and shift lever on the R and give her a whirl. (I don't have brakes on the R - I just bought the rear pedal for when I buy a brake setup in the near future.)

Cool pics jonpin!! Very nice of you to 'rescue' that stranded quad with the trike.

Good ole trike - one less thing to worry about. hehe

So - went out to the shed and installed the new battery for the Honda 350 4x4 - slapped a plug in and it fired up great. Ran the bike for about 25 minutes and it backfired when letting off the throttle and then started to sputter and died. It started back up and ran pretty good all the way home and idled fairly good in the driveway. Still don't trust her enough to go on a long trip. After riding a while she just get's 'boggy' then sputters and die's - strange.

So I got to work on the 250R - *groan* the exhaust tip was NOT a s'lip on' but was the exact same size as the expansion chamber!! Oh boy - drove all over town looking for a length of steel pipe to make a 'sleeve' to connect the two - finally found a piece and it worked great!! Bike sounds better now, actually idles better and felt a lil more tourqey (is that a word?!)

I also put the new shift lever on and it feels much better then the frankenstein home made shift lever I had on her before hand.

The exhaust tip is a sankei brand by the way - anyone heard of them before?

Why does it need to be pointing up?

This 'Mugen ATC' has a pipe pointing down and nobody mentioned it in that thread?

Thanks.

Saul are your swing arm bearings shot or is your frame tweaked that bike must go sideways down the road ,id be affraid of the chain popping off ,especialy if its anything like the 350x where it pops off and blows a hole in the block. "NOT" trying to put the bike down at all just trying to save you some trouble and if its the frame i saw someone giving a 250r frame away on the atv classifieds if i remember right.

Swingarm bearings are bad. The frame could be a lil tweaked - it's ancient!! It rides straight though.

So far today it's been all wrenching on my quad. Man alive - fuel problems!!

Looks like the bike can't get gas through the pump to the carb - probably a blockage somewhere behind the fuel pump because the fuel pump itself is working.

Went down to Melbourne and rode with Jonpin on Sunday. Had a good time! It's only been 20+ years since I've ridden. 250sx lasted a lot longer than I expected!

Monday and Tuesday tore the head apart on my 250sx.
Timing jumped and the piston met both valves for a bender.
Got new timing chain on order but I did manage to straighten the valves out and with the addition of an old 10mm socket my tensioner actually puts enough tension on the timing chain! Runs quieter than it ever has.

Here are some pics from Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday.

Yesterday I finally "finished up" (as much as I'm going to right now) the restore of Zach's atc70.
Bought this about 8 months ago and the kids have had a blast riding around the backyard. Then it began running like crap and because I was so wrapped up in the other bikes they lost interest and it sat for some weeks.
2 weeks ago I decided that I would tear her down and redo it.
Ended up powder coating everything but the bars. Bought a new carb from DRATV for $50 and cleaned up the head and honed the cylinder. Was going to buy a new seat cover but Zach kept insisting he wanted a blue seat. I kept explaining that we wanted the nice stock black seat but he wasn't having any of it. Finally went to JoAnne Fabrics (in disguise) and picked up some marine vinyl and voila Blue Seat. Runs like new and he just loves it. Only thing I need is the kill switch and right now the choke works just as well.
Check out the pictures in my signature.....
Here is a quick video from last night around the backyard....its dark but you can hear her purr quite nicely.

Went to go for a ride today - but the bike wouldn't start. Made a couple 'efforts' but just wouldn't start.

So I pull the plug - it's wet. No spark. Slap a new plug, test for spark and it's there. Luckily enough - as I'm putting the plug in a van arrives. PARTS GUY!

Had the bike started I woulda missed him and it woulda been a couple days before he showed up with my parts again. Funny stuff.

Anyways - more three wheeler parts today? he says 'I sure hope so' - I say.

He stays in the shed with me as I open the box - looks at my trikes and quad and admires the shed but really is impressed with the little 250R. Told me his brother had one just like back in '83 I think the year was' he said. 'Bought it brand new - it was just too fast for him and he let it sit for 10 years then sold it for 500 bucks'

OMFG.

Told me the bike didn't have ONE scratch on it and also had some custom stuff ordered from Honda - I'm guessing hondaline gear. He said it was ordered with all the bells and whistles. Guy wanted a Big Red for hunting but bought an R instead - wtf right? Anyways - no luck in finding out where it went.

Enough chit-chat I thought to myself - I wanted to see what the trike gods had delivered to me today - open the box and voila!

Just been buying parts lately. Scored an entire 200x front end on ebay from a local seller tonight for fifteen bucks. A good 250r rear axle for fifteen bucks and a couple one dollar parts. Picked up progressive front and rear R springs recently too. Got lots of goodies to put on the R if I ever find time. Just for the R I have a set of non-broken OEM rear fenders, +2 westcoast, billet dual row carrier, prm skid plate, progressive fork and rear shock springs (gonna send out a rear shock to get rebuilt to go with the new spring), probably more but that's all I can think of right this second.

Then of course I have that ground up 200x build going on.

Told ya man i wouldnt ride that bike like that spend ya 30$ and get it done right my 350x's axle was ruined from bad barings because the bearing race was sliding on the axle instead of the bearings and it wore groves into it and the axle was a waste, new bearings still wobbles around .

There are bearing kits on ebay. Bikerchic has resonable prices. Bought a R Vesra gasket set form her. Once you get the swinger off either press out or hammer out the bearings using a large socket. Press in the bearings or tap them in very easily using the same socket. Take note where the original bearings are before you remove them. Might want to replace the swinger bolt bearings too. Thats enough info to get you in trouble. lol

Oh geez. Now I AM in for it huh?

I have an extra swingarm I was planning on having extended - the bearings look really good in it. I may just use that one now as a stocker. But I may probably wait now until I buy the new axel, hubs, rims and tires before I start to tackle this job.

Seem's like it's gunna be a big project - hopefully I can tackle this and do it myself.

If you have access to a press is the way to go. If not find out how much it would cost to have it done. Go to a mechanics or machine shop. It will take them less than 10 minutes to do (unless they want to rip you off) and possiblly save you mucho headaches if you do it yourself!

I took my tike out today hunting and got stuck. I crossed a alrge water hole the fist time with little trouble, except I broke through the ice near the edge. The rear tires spun on the ice, I was close to ground so I agev my trike a bit of gas and pulled it a bit and if came out fine. Crossing the water hole on the way back was the problem. I drove where I broke through the ice before hoping I would brake the remaining ice in my way, no such luck. I stopped and spun, and my trike is a Honda 200e, so no reverse. Somebody then drove through the water around me and broke most of the ice, still no luck. He had rubber boots on so I jumped to land and pulled my trike to land. I jumped on and gave it a lot gas to get through the broken ice, I made it. I stopped and hollered thank-you then drove off.

ROFL! Man - this happens to EVERYONE at some time in their riding life!! I'd have loved to see the look on your face when you looked and the killswitch was off. Hehe.

So hows the bike running? Did you take it for a ride?

Dismounted the worn 20 inches tires from the 225 rims yesterday and put my zipper on the rim. It took me 1 hour to dismounted the tires ( let just say that a farm tractor is very useful to break the bead loose) and 5 min to put the zipper on the rims with my bare hand.

Adjusted the valves on the 200x (really easy:D ) still can't get it to run right..

Chops up badly at WOT but it fine at low/idle...

Does the pilot screw have an o-ring with it, I thought I read that somewhere and I don't remember having one when i cleaned it out last time:wondering

Oh well..i'm getting a carb kit anyway, hopefully that will fix it.

SInce it was way below freezing this weekend I decided to do some routine maintenance on my 350X. Also added a neet little rear rack I got from Timbo and a brand new baffle for the silencer,, changed oil,, tightened and locited some nuts and bolts etc... Still gotta change out the gaskets on the valve covers and get my sons quad up to par.. I just have no motivation. lol

She'll be already to go for the coming long holiday weekend. WooT!

I gotta say - hat's off to all you tuners who can make these old strokes run and run good.

I just went out and pulled the carb - took it apart and cleaned it all up. Noticed the slow/pilot jet was clogged (held it up to the light and couldn't see through it) - I was so happy! This MUST be why my trike won't idle. Right?

Nope. Cleaned it all out - could see through it just fine. Reinstalled the carb and fired the bike up - no idle. Stay on the throttle just a 'lil' and it idles great.

Freaking idle screw and air screw don't do anything.

I just don't know anymore.

Finally checked the air pressure in all my bike's tires. They were all off!

Installed new fuel lines and the FLUX CAPACITOR!!!11one!! - umm, I mean inline fuel filter on the R. Gapped all my spark plugs and then checked compression on my R.

Pulled my carb today and took it apart and cleaned it real good with carb cleaner. Cleaned the jet's good and was able to see through them clearly and everything. Put it back on - still won't idle. Meh - I dunno why this bike won't idle?!

Tested my compression again with the air filter off - 140lbs of compression. I figure this is 'ok'

But for the love of god, I had the bike started and warmed it up a lil before pulling the plug for the compression test - the plug was soaking wet!! I must be either super rich at idle or oil is getting up from the base?!

I gotta drain my tranny oil soon and see if it's low - would probably be a good sign that it is getting up into the head I guess.

But the bike doesn't smoke 'heavily' - it smokes a bit but not like people say it would if tranny oil was getting up into the head from a bad crank case seal or whatever.

me and chrisand4 went to the atv park down the road and had a grand old time on the quads... no trikes today since chris's needs carb rebuilt and mine is just mine lol... so im on my trx300 him on his timberwolf messin with some mud holes i get stuck... the big side-by-sides have dug out mini lakes of mud. and we mess with it trying very hard to get it out for 2 HOURS! then when we had almost given up help arrives in the form of a family of three on trikes.. the man on a well used 250sx the wife and kid on 70's. well the man says hey need help? we try to tow it out his strap breaks so we end up lifting up my tank of a 300 up onto the middle part of the hole and we basically back it out. after that thank yous insue and they ride off. we go and ride on trails that look like nobody has ridden on them in a long time and on one we come across a gravestone. from 1862 or 1869 i cant remember but i waas thoroughly scared. i leave my lights on so thank god for kick starters. we ride all day and on the way back i see one more mud hole i want to try out.... you can guess wht happened well chris drags me out while i work the throttle and then we head back up the trail... see two guys on a trx 250 and a think a trx 500 4x4 this guy is wheelying all over the place and jumping hills lol daredevil... we go back to the trucks and load up and go to the house thats wht we done today and if we could have taken trikes we would have!!!!!!!

well i finally fixed the 200e pulling to the right issue. and so me and my son went toodlin around the neighborhood. well we past 1 house at this streen near me and later went past it again the 5 kid were waving to us so we waved back and then the dad came out fo the garage. He waved to me and said hi. Asked if I lived around there. I said yea 2 streets over. He then looked really strange and asked
"can you keep a secrete?"
I was lthought awww crap he's probebly a cop about to yell at me for me and my son taking a 4mph ride around the neighborhood w/o any gear.
so i said "yea no problems. "
He said " since you live around here I'll tell ya our little ride area, if you go up about 3 driveways and then go off the right at the end you'll see a path we have and use to ride around in the back area. the land between the homes and the freeway us undeveloped and so that's where they ride. there's about 4-5 achers of property to ride on. we went there me and my son sitting cross legged on the front of the seat holding the handlebars had a blast! we toodled through the are and the oldest kid cane to join us and showed us around. it was nice. guys said to ride there anytime ya want and if we are around, we'll join ya. I was like cool. I'm going to help him fix one of his busted qaud frames and tune another that is running really rich.

So looks liek i have a palce 2 blocks away we can go riding through the woods. not really any straights for getting up and going, but lots of riding through woods and around trees and stuff. we had fun! I'm going to get my helmet on and glvoes next time and go out there w/o the kid so i can really ride the area and see how it does.

The big reds are super workhorses - you just can't go wrong with a Big Red. I was out in the shed the other nite and I have my big red and 250r lined up back to back - the big red looks like a monster with the lifted front end and big duro tires on 9's compared to the lil R. hehe

Pulled the tank on the Big Red today to JBWeld a small leak. Should be able to repaint tomorrow.

Also - was looking around at the R to see why the spark wasn't as strong as it used to be - found a wire going from the coil to the cdi looked rough - it was only hanging onto the spade connector by a couple strands - pulled out the connector but it's all broken. Gotta hunt down another this evening and re-install and see if I get better spark.

Ripped apart my 86 R clutch to find out what the "clutch noise" I was hearing was. Found my bottom end must have been hungry as it ate a 2" chunk out of one of the fiber/aluminum clutch plate. Now I have to flush my bottom end.

Also - I worked on my Top Secret project some:)

She aint as bad as she looks. I climb hills with her, put her through HELLA mud and bog, ride some very rough trails - she turns great and is way more stable then she looks.

Honestly - you would be surprised at how well she rides.

Finally got the Big Red Chopper's gas tank repaired! Topped it up and took it too the trails.

LOL - been awhile since I've had her out on the trails and in the mud! What a beast to ride - so much different then the R - you just have to ride so different. But in the mud - OH MY GOD - between the lift and the Duro's out back this thing is a swamper beast! LOL - got her on her side once when I hit a really DEEP part of the bog with my right rear tire - almost up to my thigh - pushed her back up and nailed the throttle and wheelied right out.

So much fun. Hopefully should be fun in the winter when I want a small change from the R (which is going under the knife for some mods and fixes really soon)

Fun day! Just lit the stove out in the shed - once the shed warms up I might clean the chooper off - maybe not though - may feel like some more muddin tomorrow!

Ride report?! What kinda bars are those?

The bars were given to me by a buddy - I have no idea of what make they are - but they are a really good height for my riding.

Ride report - well - it didn't go well because we have been DROWNED with rain the last 5 days straight. But I got her out yesterday and my buddy followed behind on my 350 Fourtrax.

Anyways - every freaking puddle of water I hit bogged my bike out horribly. I *think* water was splashing up around my coil and wires and killing the engine. I guess.

But the pipe felt strong - I just have to make some carb adjustments and really get it all dialed in. I've ordered a few main jet's to test and get it right - will have them in a few days.

Tomorrow I'm gunna have a look at the coil and exposed wires and try to find some way to seal them off from water. Suggestions?

Experimented with wet sanding the T-3 rear fender. It came out surprisingly good, other than some scratches from using too coarse of a grit. Its amazing what a little elbow grease will do.( the fenders are pink from sun damage, BTW) Also, I took the X out in the mud for the first time today. It was hysterically fun! I was amazed at how dirty the X got, and how clean I was!
