I finished installing a new timing chain and 300ex oil pump to my 350x. Best performance upgrade you can do, refresh the worn out parts! HAHA!
Really people, if you have a 20 year old bike and have never changed the timing chain do it. It will take your bike from a typewriter to a sewing machine. She revs out so nice and quiet now. :-)

More stripping and painting, stripping and painting. I've gotten almost the entire tecate stripped and painted. Still need to strip my lower triple clamp and paint that and my upper motor mounts, steering stem nut, bar clamps, and lower shock mounts.
I just got my clutch plates, new springs, and a new water pump seal. I should be good to go very soon.
I haven't posted much, but other than going for a ride on the 350 one day, this is pretty much all I've been working on.

Jumped on the beater 110 and had a friend on my war machine 200m. Raced around the yard (.80 acres) for a few hours. He couldnt get past the little 110 as we ran around obsticles. only time he even got close to me was on the longest straight away in out yard (which does up a nice hill), and by the time he got beside me we had to slow down and turn a 90 around a tree. he would have to swing wide cuz i had the inside. It was rather fun.
I'll say this, my arms were sore after racing around and working that 110 to keep ahead of the 200.
..... not to mention neither of them have brakes. lol

talked to Monsieur Jason hall yesterday about redesigning my old frame.
by wrapping certain portions and gussetting others I can change the weak points to the strongest points of the bike. all about how the force is distributed people.
also designed an airbox that should boost the hell out of the velocity/flow I'll be seeing. velocity stacks can stick it... goat design baby!
I've been drawing it out in my head the last 1000 miles or so.
ordered inverts.
chuckled at how freaking big my pegs are. a quad E barely covers half the peg!
don't suppose anyone has a destroyed aftermarket 400ex headpipe laying arond. all I need is the first 8 inches coming out of the head.

On the 450 - changed spark plug. Un-stuck the Hot Start jigger - was seized in the carb. Replaced the kick starter with a brand new one - YIPEEE!! - no more duck tape holding the kicker in :) Got a broken easy out out of a broken bolt - then continued to drill out the broken bolt - replaced the bolt with a thru bolt and nut on a broken foot peg bolt. Then I rode it a bit - and the foot peg bolts loosened up after only about 10 minutes - UGGG!!! Frustration set it so I moved on.
So I went to work on the ATC110 Beer Wagon. Finished welding it up - now just needs a paint job and it is done!

Just got back from a weekend ride on the Hatfield McCoy Trails. Three of us rode the Little Coal River section and covered about 60 miles. Some sections were very muddy but the weather was beautiful. I wasn't sure about keeping the Kenda Bear Claws on the 250R that I recently picked up, but they were exactly the right tire for the wide range of conditions faced on this ride. Not one mechanical issue the whole trip. I was the only trike and I didn't see another one all weekend. Yamaha had a demo ride set up at the trail head and we got to try several of their new quads out on the trails. Overall, a great trip.

I pulled the old 110 out today. I was prepping it for a little scouting mission I'm going on tomorrow. Fired 'er up, took 'er for a spin, then found a fuel leak around the seam of the float bowl. I pulled the carb off to fix it and in the process I figured out the carb spacer between the carb and intake was on upside-down. Oops! I've always had an issue with trying to git 'er to idle right, just figured it was the Supertrapp and maybe the jetting being a little off. So I put it back together right this time, put some nice synthetic 15w40 Torco in 'er and she's all better!:w00t:

I bought a blem asv clutch lever and mount for cheap from asvinventions on ebay for my tecate. The mount fits the stock perch, but the lever won't. However I am in the middle of remedying that with an air grinder.. We'll see how it works out. Turns out it works really well. The asv clutch lever feels awesome. It fits your hand perfectly. I lost the bid at $10.50 for the F3 brake lever in blue.

The 250R used 2.5 tanks of gas during the outing. My 08 Z400 and a Polaris 4x4 used a little more than 1 tank, but I rode the R like I was on the last day of Baja 1000 and the other guys just cruised.

Took off cylinder, cleaned carbon deposits. Inspected exhaust or lack of bolts... haha. Soaking carb parts, inspected reed assembly. This is the first engine tear down since I bought it. Will probably replace rings, put in boyeseen carbon reeds (on order), will check timing and tune carb. This gives it a fresh start for my summer of riding. I need to look into the coolant in the gear oil issue also, not sure if it is the pump seal and how to change that. Hopefully I can do it without splitting the case.

Today I had my 200m out in a gravel pit, and went through some of the smaller mud holes. I then went to another near by pit and tried one hole which looked like it had a solid bottom. I got stuck, and decided that I didn't want to get my boots wet, and the bottom was only sand, so I took them off. I waded in barefoot and pushed while holding a bit on the gas. One rear tire spun over my foot and badly scratched my toes.
So here I set, at home, barefoot, with Polisporn(sp?) on my toes.

Then it's off to the powdercoater and let the slow accumulation of parts begin!
I might have scored a sweet discontinued NOS part the other day too. I won't be convinced until it actually shows up though. Got screwed out of a Wax-On desert seat for it on ebay last week. Won the auction but seller refuses to ship because he was too stupid to use a reserve.

Today I picked up some parts at the Honda dealer so I can put the sub tranny back together on our 1980 110 ATC this weekend. Earlier this winter the low speed gear broke its' flange and the cover. I'm just getting in the parts now. We got the 110 at a local pawn shop, and the previous owner didn't put in the ball bearing that goes on the shaft and sits in the cover that the low speed gear is on.
We also just got a 1984 200 Big Red off of ebay a couple weeks ago. The CDI held on just long enough for us to see it run three times before dying off. The dealership is doing a carb rebuild and service for us and it should be done early next week. I have three new GBC Dirt Devil II's sitting in the barn to replace the bald knobbies.
We'll be ready and willing for TF2010. I'm saving several vacation days so we can join in next year.

Well, two weeks ago I destoryed my Pride and Joy 84 atc. I love that bike. I took it to Bear Creek here in Ohio and that stupid hill was calling me from the moment I put eyes on it. It was like I was 15 years old again. Well, I made it to the top. At least as far as you could go and call it the top. My front wheel was on flat land. Just then the bike got going a little left on me. Needless to say, there it went bouncing down the 250 foot hill. At times it was bouncing at least 10 feet in the air. When all was said and done, the bike looked pretty well. A few minutes later I was to find out that the frame was bent to hell and the rear axle was like 25 degrees off midline of the bike. To make a long story short, I went home and got on craigs list. Got a complete parts bike (82 185s) in a few hours. I just finished today a parts transfer from my 200 to this 185 frame. It is about 2" shorter, but for $50 and about 8 hours, it runs like new. I can't wait to ride again, this time I am sticking to the trails! Here are some pics of the 200 to 185 transfer!

Well, yesterday and today, I just stood and stared at mine cause, like a dumba**, I unclogged its slow jet with a drill bit and, in doing so, enlarged it and then it ran rich and the dumba** owner had to go and order a new one, which won't be in until Wednesday, and so until then, it's all ripped apart, just sitting there, wondering why it just has to sit there, not being run, wondering why an idiot drilled out its jet without first trying to come up with a better method that wouldn't damage it and then make the trike sad and cry uncontrollably.

took plastics and seat off my tecate and cleaned the whole bike good. My brother fliped it the other day and broke one side of the rear plastics and the metal rod that goes under the plastics for support. So today I welded the rod back together and riveted the plastic back together. It turned out good. They are the original plastics from 86' and I bought this trike this week off the original owner. Love this thing and I am addicted to 3WW.
..........Ill have pics when its daytime and the weathers better. I know how much everyone likes pictures.

Today I had my 200m out on my parents woodlot. I was out to a gravel pit and drove up some of the big hills, and I even saw a deer. When I came back from that drive, I decided to take my brother for a little drive around. We noticed a spot of bear crap in one spot, and then when I turned, something made a noise in the back of my trike, and immidiatly thought "bear", luckily we were getting ready to leave, because after that every noise or shape was a bear, and that put an end to my riding.

Raced my atc 70 against my buddy on my trx 70 in my yard. Nothing like good old Friday night backyard racing.
Got the big red out of the shed to do yard work yesterday. Hauled the manure trailer from behind the paddock. Then hauled the neighbors trailer back behind the paddock to load it with dirt for him to use at his house.

i replaced my front wheel bearings and seals on the 93 YTM 225. when i finished a HUGE storm rolled in, heavy rain and lightning. me being in a subdivision in a city. its not legal so i like big storms no 1 ever cares if i bust it out during bad weather. but if i bring it out on a nice day ill have police here in a matter of mins. but anywho i was probably out for about 30 mins. and my plug fouled up real bad i stalled out and had to push it home 15 mins in the pounding rain lol

today I worked on my 200s and T3 since they both werent running and the weather sucks
Took the carb off the 200s and clean it and put it back together and everytime I turned the gas on it would just run out the overflow. So I thought it was the needle or the float so I took it apart and they looked fine so I put it back together and same thing. So then I noticed I had the fuel line coming in the breather instead of the right way. So fixed that and put it back together and is fine now. Dumnnnasss me didnt put it back together right.
The other day I couldnt get my 86' tecate to start, kicked and kicked then tried poping it and nothing. I figuted it was flooded so I took spark plug off and sanded it and still nothing. So I took the carb off and cleaned it and found that the main jet was plugged. So that wasnt a bad fix. Now starts 1-2 kicks all the time like it should so I took her for a rip before it started raining. Then I replaced the twist throttle grip and put new rear brakes on it so its all set to go.
So now im happy I got both running good and had a good little ride.
Pic is from last week when I painted the exhaust.

Prepping for the 200X front fork rebuild/ conversion on my 250SX. Beadblasted and powdercoated the upper triple clamp tonight. Previous nites I mounted a new 23.5X8-11 front tire, 2 new 20X10-9 rear tires on 400EX rims. Parts for the fork rebuild just shipped, all new seals, bushing's, piston ring, wiper, fork boots. All new plastics shipped for the SX as well, white 86 250R front fender, White 250SX rear fenders with new mud flaps. Obviously got Pro-Taper SE bars, Pro-Taper grips. Still need to order a PRM rear grab bar, Straighten out the tank and paint it, bead blast the lower tripple clamp and powder that and save up to have the seat recovered. CAN'T WAIT!:D

I dunno, I live in a city and don't really have a place to ride it.....it just wasn't that fun for me. If I had a bigger area to ride I am sure I could enjoy it but I rather sell it and use the money for my other 200x.

Finally got my 350x back together the other day. New clutch, pivot bearings and carrier bearings. Just have to put the new progressive fork springs in and Im ready. Worked on my KLT110, put some slime in the tires to see if they would hold air. Worked somewhat, but I think I need more.
I had to mow... so I pushed the 500 out of the way to get the lawnmower out.... much fun.

Finally got to ride the 250SX that I picked up this past Saturday.
Went to a buddy's house where they just got through shelling corn. Big open field cruising along in 5th when it just started to slow down and then stopped, engine was idling. Dropped to 1st and hit the throttle... nothing. took a few min but we finally found a corn stalk wedged in the brake lever. Pulled out and rode on.
Riding is a great stress reliever after a busy Monday!!!

Looked at BR sitting there with the "over flowing with fuel carb " problem.
Went out back by the fence and started up the 125 and messed around doing donuts and wheelies in my 1/4 acre yard trying not to tear up the lawn too much.
Then I went out to Menards to get a price on some siding for my uncompleted shed, which will be home to the trikes when it's done. I saw Goof~Off and decided to give it a shot at taking off the over spray on the 125 plastics. It worked GREAT!
