I finally got my custom tag for my street legal tri-z from the fla dmv.just need to get my dot tires to keep the cops off my back.It sure is fun to buzz around town on it.you really get some strange looks.no problems with beach patrol when I am on the beach but most of the forestry guys hassel me on the forest roads.I cant wait to take it to daytona next week for biketoberfest.

I have found some 21 inch dot tires on 10 inch c series rims from a golf cart shop.bike came with a open illinois title that was last signed over in 1988 that said motercycle. It took the dmv about 5 mins to issue me a tag.did not ask any questions.the cops do not like it but I try to avoid them if I can.The tires are the big thing with them.I think the best way to street legal these in fla is to get one from a state that lets you do this(like az)and transfer it over.

I know it can be done in Florida but I forgot how. I planned on doing it when I lived there.

Innova and kings tires both have DOT approved tires, in fact my flat tracker front tire is DOT approved, works great in the dirt! and if you have the 12 inch rim you can just buy a 12 inch car tire for it, old minis had them along with hondas

Missing a bunch of stuff in the pics to be street legal..... be careful with that. Other than that, definitely sweet.

Turn signals are not required in any states that I have ridden through. The only thing you really need is a brake light and a mirror.

Do you signal with your arms/hands when turning? haha

Most people on motorcylces do. Or use their turn signals along with hand signals.

Da Fuzz!!!

DOT approved reflectors needed, DOT tires, rearview mirror(s), horn, DOT approved headlight, DOT tail running lamp and brake lamp, but not turn signals unless the bike was originally equipped with them- buy that's one of those things like mirrors and reflectors that are not too heavily enforced. However, NEW cycle laws in FL dicate that BOTH your hands must be on the handlebars at ALL times. Depends (really) if you get stopped by someone who is a dick. I, for the record, am not!

Alan- I'll miss you all too, man. Had to work ALL NIGHT last night, and next weekend is looking the same................dangit.

Motorcylce laws in all 50 states. Turn signals are not required in Florida or my state, IL.http://www.bikernation.net/motorcyclelaws.htm

Good info-

I never mess with them , and MC laws change in FL pretty frequently.
