Hey yall!first let me say it is nice to be around a bunch of off centered three wheelin dust creating geniuses!:w00t: i have only but 1 atc left and it is a 1984 honda 200x.I sold my 110:( and my big red was stolen in 1995:( :( all I have left is my x .Ok on to the deal here I just did my rings and such and the bike did sit for almost a year before i did the rings. I got it all together and it started on the first kick :w00t: but it will not idle for nothin and sometimes it is like after a ride the idle rpm goes way high then comes down and it chugs a second and then dies!WTF is going on here a vacuum leak ?Gimme a clue throw me a bone toss me a idea this is my last of my babies and my second favorite of the three[the big red was #1 cause it was like new!] oh and once again three wheels are better than four!

check for leaks around the carb boot flange, check your floats, check you jets and make sure your carb is clean, also make sure the timming is spot on in the cam chain department.

Yep, sounds like a vacuum leak to me. I dunno how the 200x's are, but the Tecate intake boots are prone to crack and leak over time.

check the gaskets on the carb as well, they crack with age and that makes tuning a pain.

well i figured it out! Some one down the line adjusted the pilot jet way too rich.I set it back to factory and it purrs like a kitten!only thing that has me a little worried is when it is first started it smokes a bit but once it warms up no more smoke.I think it might just be because the motor is cold.I have been checking the oil and it doesn't use a drop!I am in progress of "cleaning it up".Ok so I wont lie I got bored and decided to paint it.It isnt anything special just some torkin teal and gloss black engine enamel and a little chrome:pics: :TrikesOwn :TrikesOwn

i am having the same problem with my 85 200x idling. sometimes it will idle but then idles lower and then dies. then one day my x just started idling very well but then ran out of gas right after that. i asked an old buddy that my dad used to ride with what it might be. he said that it could be a worn slide. i think that may be what my problem is.
