Ok this T3 is an 86 its supposed to have a new piston, rings, and gaskets in the top end, a 600.00  ricky stator and flywheel??? But it doesn't run as is, and needs IMHO 800.00+ in new parts for a resto not counting powder coating/painting/prep and i haven't seen it in person. The parts i'm thinking it needs are, rebuilt, stator/flywheel installed, plastics (incl scoops), tires, wheels, all bearings, bars, and all of the little odds and ends to make it go like levers, brake sys. rebuilds, cables, brake pads, bushings, grommets and what not. So other than the year, the completeness, and the swinger, whats left? Thanks in advance, TC...

Value is pretty hard to place on something that you havent looked at in person. If you could guarantee that it only needs the things you noted, than I think your on the right track, but like previously posted, there is alot of expense trying to bring a tecate back from the dead.
It may have a the new stator and flywheel, but the motor might be junk. or it may just have a shorted kill switch. you just never know.
The swinger and pipe are cool though! I think 500-800 would be a good price just by the pics. parts bikes are sometimes priceless, and it would make a great parts bike!!

I'd pay $600 in a heartbeat. All projects have to start from something. Why not a bike that already sports a cal-fab. If the frame is good, and forks are straight, your golden. Now get over there and buy it!

I would buy it just for the CALFAB swing arm.
It has KLEMM stickers.
Looks like an old racer, the frame is green so it has been dismantled and will need to be again. You can't tell squat from pictures.
Does the axle look wide?
I would say it would cost more than $800 to restore it.
If you could low ball him on price you could make a decent profit on parting it out.

i would say buy the thing. my 250r was is worse shape and in boxes and i got it running, i still have some little things to do, but it's running.
i think that i have about 1000 into it, and i had pretty much your list plus a complete engine overhaul (piston, head, trans etc) you could say that my wheeler is a rolling ebay sign. heck i thought about getting an ebay sticker and putting it on it ( i don't think so!!!!)
good luck,!!!!!

Hey guys the 600.00 part was what he said he paid for the ricky stator/flywheel which i think is about double what it should have cost. I also figured it was an old racer with the Klemm/hoosier stickers, but its sat out for a long time and is in poor to fair condition, meaning everything will need a good bit of attention.
Anyway i offered big money for it because i want another 86 and he turned it down. As far as money i was thinking i could buy the parts to get it presentable for the 800.00 assuming it will run as is, i realize all of the details will cost a lot more.
So i guess its worth about 7-800.00 as it sits???

Easily. I bet you could ebay that swingarm and pipe for a grand. Hey if you get the bike, and thow away the fender, I would like that Klemm sticker off of it to get remade. I just picked up a N.O.S. Klemm pipe and silencer for an 85 and would like to get some fender decals for a new racer I am building. Thanks

So whats top dollar for a machine in that shape sight unseen? I have no interest in parting it out, i want to keep it and make it a runner/yard jockey. Anyway i made what i thought was a more than fair offer and he seems unsure at this point...

Oh yeah!!!! brapps got it now!!!!
I talked to brapp about that and the guy was real flaky for whatever reason but i guess my cash didn't add up to what he had to offer. So although i was a little annoyed at first i'd rather see it go to someone that will appreciate it, than someone who is going to part it out to the vultures on ebay...
