i was just wondering if a stock 350x would beat a stock banshee, in a woods, or in a drag race...i know its a stupid question, but i'm just wondering

Yes, yes it can spank a stock banshee in a race.

HA HA just playing, I think the 350X would not spank a stock Shee.
The Shee is just a bad ass machine. trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro I do not think the stock 660 raptor can spank a stock shee. That will be my next bike when I can afford to get rid of the 250r

yur askin if a 350 2 stoke will beat a 350 4 stroke??? take a wild guess. i would say the X would get swamped. but it doesnt look to me like you have either of these machines??? So why ya askin?? Go buy ya one and find out

The X doesn't stand a chance. Even through the woods the stability of four wheels and the sheer straightaway speed of the 2 stroke will toast the 350X. Sure, there are some that say they could beat a 'shee on a 350X, but put 2 equal riders against each other and the 'shee wins, hands down.

It is not a fair race, though, because they are not even close to being in the same class.

lets just say i completely disagree with everything you said and leave it at that. no hard feelings.

trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro I do not think the stock 660 raptor can spank a stock shee.

The Raptor will win during woods riding and in top speed, but probably not in acceleration.

Bill, I knew you would, and there is no hard feelings. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion.

I almost added in that post that you would definately disagree, but I decided to go ahead and let you post. :)

I would pay money to see an experienced banshee trail rider be beaten through a trail ride...by you. (riders of equivalent riding capabilities)

Thanks ATC Crazy I did not know. It would make sense that it would spank it cause of the low end torque of the 4 stroke. Plus the top end, but in acceleration like you said the 2 stroke will spank it.
That is what it's all about though. Getting slammed back when your shee takes off hard

Yeah...nothing beats the thrill of high HP in a light-weight machine huh?

i know a guy with a 100% stock shee even has worn down rubber i bet he would race any 350 out there (and win most the time)

HAHA! What a fun guy.

Tell me your oppinion, do you think I could outrun a banshee on a 350x through the woods one at a time during a time trial if I was equally advanced on either machine :?:

MR ATC
06-25-2003, 02:20 PM
i can't tell you what you can do. i can only tell you what i've done. and in some of the woods i ride a Banshee won't physically fit in some places. other places require steady low end power not on-off switch powerbands like a Banshee. if i can beat 12,000.00 custom built lager chassied trx 250R's in the woods i can beat a stock Banshee. weather you can or not is up to only you.

In real woods, the stock 350x is vastly superior to the banshee. I'm talking bone stock. Banshees are easily modified, and often are.

BlueWheeler
06-26-2003, 07:32 AM
I think the Banshee is the # 1 prefered and most modified quad out there. All I see out at sand lake are banshees. Sometimes you get some freak on a 660 rap but they always get spanked by the shee

ATC crazy
06-26-2003, 10:23 AM
Yea...Banshees kick arse in the dunes, but in the woods, 250R's, 400EX's, and Raptors rule. And the 350X ;)

atc250r
06-26-2003, 10:35 AM
You can modify a Banshee but...what's the point? It will cost you twice as much to do the same thing that a stock 250r will do.

Now the Banhsee does have its place. They kick ass in the desert or the dunes. Give the banshee a place to stretch its wings and it will take off.

But I prefer less parts to break, more low end flexibility and more money left over for aftremarket goodies.

I did help build and tune a 520 Banshee with YZ pistons when I was out in Arizona and man was that thing scary! I loved it!

i sent some pics to Billy and he posted them a while ago of me doing no footers over a ditch on my 86 350X the pictures were not great quality but you could tell what i was doing. they were taken in 1988 right around the same time i started doing no handers and other tricks.

yep those first two are the ones i was talking about. the second one was actually a heel clicker but the photo was timed wrong. the last one is actually an attempt to do a no footed cross up you cant see my other foot but it is off the peg. i did not get a good cross on the bars if you look closely my arm hit my leg not letting me get full movement.

Thanks Billy

Not jokin or being a putz, but I was wondering if it could be done (multiple times without crashing hard) on a 3 wheeler? Here is a pic of me and a buddy doing them on our quads. The jump is a pretty flat landing tabletop. We were landing about 20' out (give or take a few feet) As you can see from the tires.....just gettin to the suspension.....then BANG....jewels off the tank.....OUCHY!!!!!
First...a good pic of the hard landing....with hands.....
http://users.adelphia.net/~cinnamonlou/pics/craighardland.jpg

Then the landing ....no hands.....you can imagine the impact.....BANG!
(Check the tires starting to compress, cool eh?)
http://users.adelphia.net/~cinnamonlou/pics/craignohandland.jpg

Here is my buddy Buck gettin some nice air....he didn't land with no hands.... too nervous
http://users.adelphia.net/~cinnamonlou/pics/buckjump.jpg

If anyone has done the no-hand landing on a trike let me know how it went....I am very curious.
