How does this Speedometer Work???

I bought this at a swap meet this weekend and know that you could get these for the TRX's back in the day but..... How do they work.
I'm not woried about if it will work one of my threewheelers but how does it work?
It has 2 Green wires and 2 Brown/White (for the back lights)
2 Black/Brown . (they are both hooked to the "R" termainal)
1 Green (hooked to the "G" terminal)
and 1 Yellow (hooked to the "Y" terminal)

It does not have a "cable' that you hook to the wheel so I guess I need some kind of sender unit. Does anybody have this unit hooked up and working that can help me with hooking this up to a Three-Wheeler or 4-wheeler.

Yes that speedo head has a sender unit.....you have to fit a big star washer to the rear axle and the sender unit ...can send you some pics if you want???
these speedo units are only fitted to quads.. i'm sure you could get it to work on a atc though.....
