Hi guys, I was wondering on my 110's (1981 and 1980) With the air/fuel screw on the carb is there a small o-ring that is suppose to be on that screw along with the spring? Also my 1981 needs a new front sprocket ( have the new one). I know you have to take all of the hi/low gears off and the whole left crankcase cover off, the rotor and of course the recoil? I have an oil leak coming from that gasket to, so i might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and fix that leak and put the new sprocket on all at once, do you guys have any suggestions for this process, im pretty handy, have 3 trikes total, so i think i won't have any problems. I know when u take the rotor off you can mess up the timing. So any suggestions on takeing that off? Also have to cut shifter shaft because someone welded the shifter on. So now i have to pull the right cover to(allready have done that more then once) so im an expert. So ill need a new shifter shaft and shifter to. Also it smokes pretty good, not terrible but def noticable. Still runs fine though. I heard you can put a small amount of 2-stroke oil in the spark plug hole and it will help seal the piston rings, Is that true? Any one that can help me with this stuff, please do. Thanks in advance! Dan, sounds like you are pretty well informed about taking the engine apart to fix your problem. There is really no easy way to take the engine apart. Make sure you have plenty of rags, a catch basin for all your engine fluids and to clean and inspect all your parts really well before reassembly. Make sure you have all proper gaskets and seals and that you clean all your sealing surfaces thoroughly. You might want to keep a tube of yamabond or hondabond handy. I use the yamabond4 and it helps if you have any sealing surfaces messed up by previous owners that like to use hammers and screwdrivers. Also a good copy of the honda shop manual with all the torque specs and a decent inch/pound and a decent foot/pound torque wrenches. The click kind, not the pointer kind. Then you should be in pretty good shape. Also that 2 stroke oil trick, doesn't really work. Worn rings are worn rings. You should check your piston and cylinder to see if they are in tolerances. If not, you should invest in a new piston and rings and a bore job and do it right. You will be much happier in the long run. Keep us posted on your repair job and have fun.

Thanks vealmonkey. Do you know anything about that fuel/air screw i mentioned. Also i think ill be ok with anything bad on the bike. It used to be my girlfriends moms back in 81, her moms dad (who was a crazy handyman) took care of it, even tohugh her mom beat it from day 1, not in a really bad way. then they sold it to my friend for $100 bucks. after thay it just got beat and neglected, i got it back somehow in a trade, ended up getting it for free. when i got it the rear sprocket looked like a saw blade, the chain was broken, the front sprocket is missing someteeth, it was stuck in 1st gear, recoil was apart in someones bear box. After 200 bucks in parts i can ride it down the road as it sits. always starts and runs pretty good for being so old. Also where can i get some piston and rings and hwo much does it cost ususaly to get it rebuilt? what total parts do i need to rebuild it if i did? Thanks for your help!! Dan I'll post some pics sometime of it how she sits now. :beer
