hi everyone. i'm looking for a little input as to what carb my trike should be running. i have an 84 250r that has a hondaline 300kit and a FMF pipe. whats on the bike is a keihin PE carb of unknown size. now i was told by a friend i should be running at least a 38mm carb and the pwk was the best one. i've been looking and found some off of trx-250rs but they say will only work with the 85-86R's? anyone wanna input? how do you use the #'s on side of carb to figure out size? heres what mine says PE 30AWVJ went to keihins site and it wasn't much help. thanks

I ran a 36mm pwk on my 300r drag trike last season and it was perfect because it improved top end without compromising bottom end, this season I run a 39pwk I always use an 85 odyssey fl350 intake boot with over sized carbs on the 83-84 250r's.

Also those numbers indicate that it is the carb that came stock on the bike a 30mm

Yeah there talking about the slide that opens and closes your throttle inside your carb a pwk has a D shaped slide PE'S are round the 87-88's had a flatslide 36mm I believe not sure the model but they should all work with the fl350 intake. To run a pwk you'll need to drill two small holes in the backbone portion of the frame to run your throttle cable.

Heres 4 pic's of what I had to do to hook up a big pwk carb, with the fl350 intake it sets the carb off to the right slightly and because of the size of the carb I had to run a reed spacer so it wouldn't hit the tranny I also ran the cable through the backbone and I had to make a new tube going from the back of the carb to the airbox I just trimmed down a honda del sol intake tube to work.

his trick with the intake tube has saved more than a few people who are running a larger carb.
