Yesterday I traded a couple things I hadn't used in years for three new trikes. :w00t:
From worst to best:
a yellow yamaha 200cc (allegedly) four stroke. It's not a DX or a DR. It's the baby brother to those bikes with the motor set way back in the frame. The motor is seized (allegedly) and some parts have been picked off, but it's mostly there. All the plastics are there, the motor and driveline is there, the front end is there, but the ignition is gone and maybe a couple other bits may have been taken.
I'm thinking of donating it as a trikefest raffle bike if someone wants to fix it up. This bike has chinese knock-off trail pros on the back. Never seen somebody too cheap to buy trail pros, but here's the proof!
The second bike is a KLT 200. My GOD is this bike ugly! It rides like a tank, but it's a runner. All the plastics are there. It could use a bath. Near as I can tell, there's only one part missing from this bike. There's some kind of little flap dealy that's supposed to go on top of where the gas tank would be if it were a Honda. The ignition key and neutral indicator are under there. It looks like it's supposed to be some sort of flap to protect them or something.
The third bike is an 83 Big Red. Somebody spray painted the plastics black, but the paint is flaking off so I think it will clean up pretty good. When I first found it, the seat was shot, fork boots were shot, headlight was dangling by the wires and it had no front rack or headlight guard. Turns out, when I went there to get the trikes, the guy had a bunch of parts. It included a damned near new seat with an extremely clean seat pan and an almost perfect cover. There were three extra sets of forks, two extra sets of shocks, a set of shock springs, an engine case cover with the stator still mounted to it, some new brake and shift levers, two sets of fork boots (including one brand new), and a bunch of other little stuff.
If I can get the paint off the fenders and get the new seat, fork boots, rack, headlight guard, etc... all mounted up, this is going to be one nice BR.
Oh, and the icing on the cake? It has tire chains! I'm not sure if they'll help in the Haspin mud or not, but I think they're cool. :D
I'll post pics tonight.
